I just need them to finish these and the Stunticons. Things were progressing well for a while there, we were getting semi-regular releases... but it feels like forever since we got an FT release. What was the last one - Huffer? I skipped him so I think it's been Seaspray or Beachcomber since I got my FT itch scratched.

Yeah, Seaspray was the last new release, feels like forever ago. I got mine in April 2021 so it’s been about half a year!

The Menasor I can see where the time is taking. Well, not see exactly. But I can understand that FT probably don’t want to “rush” (and I use the word loosely) this one for FOFU (fear of fucking up). There’s clearly more complexity regarding the Menasor design than the Superion.

I’m patient also. You have to be being an FT collector I think. But I agree that perhaps Superion could have been pushed on a little more maybe. Is the general assumption that Superion by FT will follow the Zeta lead? If so… why is this one taking longer if it’s a parts forming piece? Not looking for an answer… just an open question really.

I also thought that the stunt and aerial bots were being staggered in release. One con one autobot, one con one autobot… This seems to have gone out of the window. Or perhaps we are waiting for Deadend to land after say Slingshot or Fireflight? I don’t think it was a coincidence that FT decided to release them together and maybe their intention is to also finish them together.

    Hang in there!

I agree with what another user said regarding this. Namely, FT are book-ending releases to keep people interested.

Those designs are probably long since finished, but lot's of people will tap out of TF collecting once they have their combiners. These things are a big deal.

FT is doing the business smart thing and holding some combiners back.

I'd always assumed that Superion's torso piece would transform into something. God knows what exactly, but I got the impression that Fanstoys wants its parts-forming parts to have a role in alt mode.

Makes sense. And in between each of those bookends are a selection of other characters. When I wrote that I thought the cons and autobots were being staggered in release I didn't mean as in only the members of each combiner and no other figures until they were all done. My understanding was that although we might get different figures in-between them... they'd still follow suit in terms of Roadking, Maverick. Spoiler, Goose. Magnum, Iceman. Smokey, ?. Bandit, ?. Does that make sense.

I remember (ages ago now it seems) when they were announced having a conversation with a few here about Superion's chest / torso turning into a landing strip of some kind. It was all very fantastical and ideas and dreams of an aircraft carrier (Broadside style) were thrown around. Now I don't really care so much after seeing XTB's Menasor base mode. It's not something I personally require in my combiners. Aaaand... if it keeps the cost down by not having this kind of gimmick even better for me and my wallet.

My thought is that they need the $$ from reissuing their highly desirable figures, so they can afford to finish the designs for Superion & Menasor, without having to charge $8000 a figure.

I've been thinking the same thing, I do hope we're at least half right.

    Hypothetically....

Let's just say that they're having trouble with the arm bots being too heavy for the ratchets...

Do you think a system could work where you would pull a spring pin out, move the arm and then release the pin, which would snap back - holding the arm in place.
I don't know what this pin would be called or the terminology to describe its function, but I know I have seen this type of mechanism somewhere before.

At least we’ll burn some calories while we wait. Get my look-good on for Superion.
