You are correct and it's a major fault of the figure. But I still think he looks great.

    I love the zombie Spike.

Yes, they have silicon pads at the ends of the pipes and hold really stable. I can give the desk or shelf a shake without fear even when the jet is positioned at a pitch.

What issues did you have with your Flightpose orders?

Looking at this picture of Iceman, it's sad to see that Fans Toys could have allowed for decent waist articulation with a compact and stable backpack with little effort.
Just like Goose, they are short by 1-2 joints :( .

    IMG_5721.JPG

The wings / backpack can already be configured in a compact way that unlocks the waist rotation.
What is missing is a way to bring the cockpit lower and lock it with the backpack so that neither of them is flopping around.

    What is the problem?
The cockpit section is multi-jointed and could be lowered down further. The long black section behind the cockpit is unfortunately preventing this.
Having 1-2 additional joints in that piece of plastic would have allowed for it to fold out of the way and around the backpack to lock both together.
Looking at pictures of the combined form, this additional joints wouldn't have compromised the leg mode either since they would have been in a free-hanging piece.

It's sad to see that two good toys have been prevented from being great by just 1-2 missing joints :( .

When putting Iceman in leg mode, is the nosecone only meant to rotate in one direction? It was tight to begin with; now after the first full rotation clockwise, it feels very loose. Did I break an internal mechanism? I’m probably just being paranoid, but that made me think maybe it’s only meant to rotate in one direction (counterclockwise?). What do you guys think?

I really want to know why Fans Toys is cutting corners in the manufacturing/assembly. The mold has of these pegs in the legs (there are several not just at the swivel arm base) that are designed for long screws to extend through the length of the rotating portion (think pin instead of screw and you will understand). Imagine using a short pin to only hold half of the piece in place. That's that they have done here with using short screws. Saving costs and not meeting what the original designer had intended.

The designer knew what they were doing, but it seems to met that manufacturing cut some corners and didn't use the longer screw like the original designer intended.

    FT_Air_Raid_Short_Screw2.jpg

then the package the figure with the legs not secured and they wobble all around during shipping putting a lot of stress on the this part (the base of the leg's swivel arm for the combiner wars action). And this is the only shear I had on my figure. the other leg has a sheared peg on the base of the outer leg flap. Same deal. They used a short screw.

Same situation here. Rotation joint, Short screw used when a longer screw is what the designer intended. Sheared right out of the box.

I can't be 100% Sure, but it looks like Bobby's copy has the same issue. You can see the huge gap in the right knee at the end of his video: (but it may not be tabbed in properly at the square tab towards the back of the knee on that panel. hard to say.

It's called complacency. And i don't care if the FansToys army of excusers comes down on me. I am buying their products but, they are becoming worse and worse on the QC department.

Pay $120 for a defective product, get two screws chip a whole lot of paint and of you go. Same story here.

Yeah I am not trying to be an alarmist, but I expect a log of breakages due to the short screws they used. It must really frustrate the designer. Post Corona FT is cutting corners it seems, or the manufacturing team is making mistakes. The fact that I found two areas where they used short screws, I am leading towards it being a cost cutting decision.

Nothing is worse when beautiful pieces like these get destroyed by QC issues

Depends. If using shorter screws to save 0.5 cents per screw is intentional, it's not a QC issue, and is even worse because they're CHOOSING to do it that way. If they intend to use longer screws, but the factory workers are occasionally using short ones accidently, THEN it's a QC issue.

Do you really think it’s an exaggeration to expect that in 2020?

    Serious question, not trolling you.

Is it a case where they could provide longer screws and these just need replacing ASAP by us?

So if you want it, that's great, but dang it's dominated this thread for a dozen pages. Some people hate it, some don't care very much. Not much else to say at this point.

Did you have to use Surface Mail for that? I've got those 2 on order with a store in Hong Kong (Robotoybase), but he wont ship now because Air Mail is currently suspended to North America.

I would Recommend it. This white plastic shears pretty easily.

Apparently there are a couple of cases where one of the legs is broken right out of the box. It was reported in a Facebook group for fanstoys. Anyone know if there are more cases and if this an issue. My copy is on the way and all these things are getting me slightly worried.

Some in the group says it is user error and they just don't want to admit it.
