I have no regrets on my Zeta Ox Superion, but I'm all in on this set too.

 

I like Kronos for the combined mode, and the jet modes are decent. I have no doubts that FT's will look better in their individual robot modes, but as I said earlier I still have reservations regarding FT's engineering. Roadking is cool and all, but that's one figure in like two years that I don't hate to transform. Plus we've yet to actually see FT pull off a combiner. Again, Roadking is a fantastic MP Motormaster, but all that heft FT's fans love to gush over might work against the combined mode if it's going to get jammed into a backpack. So yeah, I'm not a big fan of Zeta's robot modes. And yeah, I'm keeping an eye on these guys to see how they turn out. But Kronos is doing the job I need him to, and I'm not ready to hand FT the crown based on some test shots.

 

Seeing this and Brawn and Warpath... I'm starting to think that FT got a special deal on metallic paint from their supplier, and bought a little more than they should have?

...rather eh on the paint job though, the metalic paint feels a bit off and the end result feels neither fish (toy) nor fowl (toon).  given the noggin I wish they\'d just gone all in for toon, or at least gone more heavily one way or the other

 

Someone want to tell Fanstoys they forgot to release Silverbolt first.

 

I really like this height difference. None of that Snow white syndrome malarky like the other combiner groups made by the other companies, I hope they keep this height difference when they get around to the other combiners particularly my favourite group, the Technobots. Is Silverbolt the same height as MP-10/44...I was hoping so as I thought Motormaster only ended up being as big as he is because of the incredible feat of engineering he was or should is say is....just like Magnus!

As for the metallic paint I totally agree with everyone, I think it should be ditched. But I'm surprised at how people are missing the forest the trees, his face seems more yellow than orange? Is that the effect of the metallic paint, because it seems more yellowy orange than the actual orange in the animation model!?

 

I want to say that there’s a picture of him next to MP-10 and he’s slightly taller, about the same as Roadking. Can’t find it now though...

This guy looks great. I've never been a fan of Silverbolt and will likely pass on him (as I'm not completing this combiner), but I've always loved Silverbolt. This figure is a must buy.

 

Hey do you guys think his canopy is a separate piece of translucent plastic or is it just painted on? I can’t tell from the pics.

 

Metallic Paint = Meh. FT should team up with TW and do full clear colored plastic with metallic paint combiner so they can get it out of their system. Do a triple whammy and get Shockwave Lab to do the light up features. LOL

My only other gripe is the holes on the shins. Its hard to un-see that so not sure how that can be fixed or less obvious its present. Maybe less metallic paint?

I’m confused because I thought most 3rd party fans didn’t like Takara’s Full toon direction. But now a lot of you are complaining about the metallic paint. I thought metallic paint made a figure look more premium? Fans Toys other figures like Six Shot have metallic paint don’t they?

Anyway I’m a huge Takara fan but I think Fans Toys combiner figures all look pretty great so far and Goose may be my favourite one that’s been revealed in colour.

The only thing stopping me from purchasing is that we have not seen a review of the full combiners and I’m concerned about stability. Also, Motormaster did not come with any combiner parts which tells me that they plan to release all the combiner figures as stand alone figures and then release a combiner kit later and they have not said how much that will cost as far as I know. I would also prefer no parts forming for the combiner like Mastermind’s Bruticus but I understand the difficulty of that and MC’s Bruticus is too short I think. But to be honest I’m not sure of it’s height.
