With all of Quietus's issues, I expected him to sour me more on this figure. I've owned Hydra for a while now and he's still a shelf-anchor beyond compare, he looks pretty much perfect next to Carnifex. He's staying in bot mode for the time being, but it's frustrating that the inferior figure (Quietus) gets more love than this guy. Quietus can barely be transformed without self-destructing, while Hydra just has floppy knees. I don't think I'll be buying anything new from Fans Toys for a long, long time, but I'm glad I got Hydra.

after much deliberation, after much deliberation, I've decided that I would only get this if I see it for about a hundred bucks or something like that. I like it better than Hanzo but not enough 2 both buy this and take a loss on selling my Hanzo.

First round of transformation from bot to wolf mode was frustrating, trying to figure out what's happening with the hind legs. After that, I just transform based on intuition and things got better. Not without his QC flaws but if he stays in bot mode, I think he's fine. Would have preferred matte paint on him. Anyways, here are some pics.

It may be very well be too big since it is scaled and modeled for masterpiece.

Either way, it's a fantastic figure. You may want to make an exception and grab one while it is still readily available.

Not a fan of the TR version? Will be a hell of a lot cheaper too.

Had him about a week. Not the greatest modes, but I love this thing. Ironically, I worried about QC and problems with his knees and legs....and it's the white plastic in the shoulder joint that failed on mine.
I wasn't even transforming the arms when I noticed
he break, because I was putting his legs into Wolf-mode. Luckily BBTS is taking care of me. Can't wait to get a replacement figure....although I would settle for a replacement joint. I trust the legs and knee flap on this one...I'm scared as to what problems my replacement could have that is good on this copy.

This thing is just so gorgeous and fun though.

Egads! That's the second noted busted up arm joints on Hydra..

Not to send out pitchforks, knifes, torches, flaming Molotov cocktails and that such to FT in condemning their products, I believe that this an design fault that was totally overlooked and I believe that it was mentioned before.

Edit: January 18/2019 by Unicron9 (#2829) posted about filing down the tabs on all the outside pegs that conect into the shoulder joints. If FT has another run of Hydra, I rather have with a re-design of the arms just for piece of mind (possible or not).

Even IR's Dubhe had faulty and fragile shoulder/arm joints and IR offered a replacement.

It works for me. I'm glad I picked this up. It is the definitive MP Sixshot.
As always once it dries up and customers are at the mercy of marked up prices from scalpers, then this thread will be flooded with wishes for a reissue. One can set their watch to it.

Hopefully, the reissue does away with the pearl paint. Luckily, there’s plenty of other figures to keep my wallet occupied until then.
