Hey guys, I'm newer to the boards, I've been a fan and a collector for alot longer, been to a few cons as well, just recently got onto the boards. I just got Toyworld's Seaspray and I'm painting the faceplate yellow, hopefully it turns out decent, I have never missed out on a Fanstoys figure, but, this one looks not so good, the proportions are not right at all. But maybe in hand it might be different, I guess we will find out.

Of the 3 Versions of Seaspray being released this year sadly I think FansToys is the least attractive in robot mode, but surprisingly he has the best alt mode of any of them,I don't know why that is in my opinion, but I just like his alt mode.As for XTB's and Toyworlds versions I will say this.

XTB's has the best overall proportions,he is more athletic looking, plus his transformation seems a little bit harder where those tubes around his feet swing back behind his heels so it gives him a cleaner look in robot mode.
Toyworlds version I have to say is the most cartoon accurate with his pudgy-ness,but the downside are those damn clear blue windows, those things are getting painted over after I get him,but on the upside the G1 Fan that I am still think he is the cutest of the 3 for his G1 Cartoon Look.

So in closing what is my decision you ask, well the answer is All 3,I have All 3 Preordered, they each bring something different that I like in each one of them.Later Guys.

Yeah, XTB it is. This looks bad.

What good does "good QC" do when the figure looks nothing like the source material.

I like this new re-imagining of Seaspray... he looks much more bad-ass.

It doesn't look bad if what you want is an stylized version of him, that's for sure.

But this isn't G1 at all. AT ALL.

Yeah it's funny, I didn't like Grinder's head (the cartoon accurate straight jaw is better) but I like the new look they gave Spindrift.

IMO his legs are too busy. To start. And he's supposed to be a little chubby.

Really? So if you just saw an unlabeled picture of this you wouldn't know it's Seaspray? You don't have to like it but let's tamper the hyperbole.

You know who this is, but do you want a toy version that looks like this? Exaggerated for effect of course, but just because you can identify something doesn't mean it's the right fit. That's exceedingly true in the world of Transformers, where a couple minor stylistic changes completely change the series or timeline they're from.

Of course I'd know, much like TW's version of Optimus Prime, people know who it is. Doesn't mean it looks the part in any way.

Yup. But dat diecast and heft bro.

Is this still coming out in may? I'm confused. It seems it's final for awhile now. Were there any reviews?

I thought TW's face plate was painted white over yellow plastic. So just need rubbing alcohol and a qtip.

You can check further in the TW forum.

Since it appears to be finished, I'd expect it will be coming next, after Phoenix which is already arriving, and before or alongside the Stomp re-issue.

They might even try to get this to market first, before XTB, to try to maximize sales before more a toon-accurate Seaspray ships.

I'm glad there are versions out there for folks who don't see this as a "real" Seaspray.

Speaking as a guy who had the original toy, and religiously watched Season 2, I can tell you that this version is what I always wished the original toy (and cartoon model) would have looked like.

You can keep your pudgy Seasprays. This is the one that speaks to me.

I've already decided after looking at my TW Cosmos that he has to go. Their Seaspray looks good with their Cosmos but it just doesn't size quite right for me.
