Not really fair to say one is "better". You may prefer one look but the Titans Return one is more updated of a look for Weirdwolf while Lupus is designed to look how he originally did in the cartoons..
Isn't that subjective? I think the TR one looks better. It's called an opinion, I really don't care if my opinion is "fair".
Right? It is becoming increasingly rare that the Hasbro figures appeal to me more than the third party ones, TR is really knocking it out of the park with the deluxes. Something about Lupus is just...bland?
Hmm , I actually like the figure more than I thought I would after seeing its articulation and transformation.
The leg panes don't tab. The wolf head doesn't seem to tab at the back either, and the shoulders articulation is a bit limited. For smaller figures those are probably fine, but for bigger figures like this ...
What's funny is that the mp figures are getting worse (official mp's) yet the normal cheap tf's are getting so much better that they actually look good nowadays. With a price that doesn't try to rape your wallet to boot.
No doubt, I haven't been impressed at all by an MP since Star Saber. On the other hand, the amazing engineering and sculpting in the TR line makes the lack of paint and thin plastic all the more frustrating. I guess in a perfect world we would have a balance between both extremes.
Here's my pre-production sample review, which came out after retail already came out : ( I hope the retail version fixed some issues with the leg and cockpit. That said, even with those fixed, I think Fans Toys could have done much better overall. To be fair, I think it's on par with Maketoys Ironwill but weaker than Cupola in terms of overall execution. Materials are always top notch though with FT. ~Paik
