And that is a fair assessment of the figure. Fanstoys excels in making figures that emulate that G1 toon model. Sometimes in matching that asthetic as close as possible, figures will have sacrifices made such as a transformation that is less than ideal and god forbid no waist rotation. Fanstoys make shelf figures that look like the G1 model as closely as possible. They don't make figures that you will want to play with a lot. MP-28 fails badly on matching that look in robot mode, but it is more fun to transform, and the alt mode does look good. I don't think anyone can legitimately say that the robot mode of Hoodlum isn't the best representation of the G1 model of Hot Rod. Personally, that's what I want in my collection, but it won't be for everyone, and that's a good thing.
