Agreed. I did the same to mine with 3 stacked pieces of duct tape. It firms everything up nicely. But when I move the shoulder joints too much (more than 1/4 turn)... they pop out of the U shaped sockets inside the bot torso. Also the orange collar pieces which connect the front torso to the back piece, which rest on that knife edge behind the neck, and either one will randomly pop off loose if I look at it the wrong way. Maybe I might try stacking more pieces of duct tape on the rub spot, to in turn push the entire torso upwards, thus hopefully more securely keeping the 2 orange collar connectors connected in place... ???

@nemesisconvoy hoodlum is in scale, so to speak. Season 3 bots are taller.

Ah, what I used was probably a bit thicker: I cut a tiny rectangle out of a yoga mat. Since it's kind of thick and squishy, it holds the hood part in place nicely. So mine feels more secure in bot mode than what you're describing.

Hoodlum was supposed to be the chosen one, but he's just a placeholder. I say this as someone with every FT movie bot release except Arcee. Hot Rod is my favorite character and only mp09 gets him right. At least aesthetically.

But hoodlum is good enough in bot mode for now

For such a high profile character, aesthetically this was always a disappointing FT release for me I'd probably peg with Tesla alongside their rare misses.

Like the V1 Blitzwing, you could tell the proto was a few years old when stacked up next to more up to date FT releases (& it'd be nice if they could likewise revisit the design at some point as they've also done with Seaspray.)

Bib chest or no bib chest, MP28 gets the neck and collar right at least ... but each to their own, I guess. :)

I have Hoodlum and Official MP-28. So I am, as all things should be, perfectly balanced.

But I don't even know where my MP-28 is and Hoodlum is on the shelf. I LOVE MP-28 but he looks like a midget when all the other figures on my movie shelf are FansToys. I just wish my Hoodlum could look up.

You need to modify the helmet, I thought you would have done it?

I tried to 3d Print the neck adapter someone on here created, but it cracked when I was installed it. Do you just file the bottom of the helmet? I don't love to modify my figures irreversibly, but I already did on Hoodlum by removing the ugly shoulder tabs.

Yeah just some of the bottom back half of the helmet. I didn't do it a lot and just gave him a slight look up but it makes it a lot better. Ill try to post more pics.

The orange shoulder clips are mostly for show, not function. The cover up the exposed bits from the top. If you leave the clips folded in you actually get more range on the shoulders for posing.

Clips, not covers....the ones that connect the neck area to the back and hold the torso together

Yeah, now i know which you mean, I was half remembering functions. But i wasnt totally off in my statement, they dont clamp down on mine either.

I also did the mod to remove the tab from the shoulder vents, no issues in alt mode either.

The depth of the cut on these collar clips is too shallow... you can get them to hold better by deepening the cut with a small metal file... or some precise xacto knife work. If you increase the depth of the groove, they will hold a bit better.
