the alt-mode is fine to me...at least it looks like it has clearance to actually roll. I started to get the MP-28 as my Rodimus, but the look of the chest always bothered me, and the fact that people always had trouble standing him wouldn't work in my house...too much activity going on.
    carry on...

Wait, I’m sorry. I just looked at the front page and are you telling me this guy as Hot Rod is meant to stand as tall as MP-10?

Show.Z will have the best price, @Honesty covered the trade-offs.

To be more comprehensive, here are a few more:

    EastCoastToys - not yet listed?
Log In or Sign Up to View
Not sure how to pre-order but BSF recommends them and they say they're building a website. I believe you could message them on Facebook to see if they offer pre-orders for FT-17.

    The Chosen Prime
    - $89.99
    Fans Toys FT-17 HOODLUM
Free shipping at $150, loyalty credit accrued on every dollar spent, which can be translated into gift certificates

    Agabyss - $87.95
    Agabyss > Pre-Orders > [Pre-Order] Fans Toys FT-17 Hoodlum
Free shipping over $150, $5.95 flat rate on orders under $150
AgaBucks rewards program (not sure of the specifics, check their site)

Captured Prey - not yet listed?
    All Pre-Order Items
Free shipping at $150 and they tend to be $2-3 cheaper on each item price. Offers a Loyalty program as well (3% off plus $20 on qualifying. Not sure of the details).

    GCI Toys - $84.99
Fan Toys FT-17 Hoodlum (MP Scale Hot Rod)
    Free shipping at $140

As Honesty noted, TFSource offers free shipping at $150.
They also have Source Points, which accrue on each shipped order and can be converted into cash off future purchases.

I didn't forget. It wasn't relevant. Everyone wants to pay the least amount but not everyone needs their toys immediately.

And Toydojo shipping isn't free unless you spend more then $150.

I did update the post with Chosen Prime however.

ShowZ is a Chinese retailer shipping direct from China so naturally it will be lower than the North American retailers. Similar to Chinese sellers on Ebay like netclow or baba.

I think I will display FT Hoodlum in robot mode and MP-28 in alt mode. For some reason the FT alt mode looks odd. But then again I thought MP-28 robot mode looked odd. LOL!

No, it's where it was which is nice. I was worried the spoiler would be hidden but it seems placed well

I am definitely in the minority here. But I like the FT alt mode better.

I am not big fan of Hoodlum car mode, but on the other side you can recognize there many similarities to proportions and overall feeling of original G1 toy.
Also I can see that some cartoon interpretations (except The movie) are not so far away from FT design.

I've been thinking that MP-28 did the altmode better, but I'll give Hoodlum some credit for not having really tiny front wheels. That aspect of MP-28's altmode looks a little weird to me.

Yup. My two cents exactly. And as a way of saying thanks to TD I am leaning that way because of the thorough inspection they did with Gabe. It saved me a big freaking headache for sure

I love the way the alt mode looks.

It’s a transformer right? Sacrifices have to be made. Both modes look pretty great to me. The alt does remind me of the G1 toy somewhat which I like.
Many people on this forum love splitting the finest of hairs to air their displeasure.

Have you seen or owned MP09? Beautiful alt mode and bot mode, albeit fiddly....but aren't all the pretty people?
Wonder why KBB haven't made a KO smaller MP09.

It isn't like it was a surprise what the alt mode looks like. Even back to the original renders.

I think the alt-mode looks great except for straight on profile view which you rarely look at or display like that anyway.

The official bot mode does not look as bad as shown in the photos. I just don't like the floppy mess, horrendous backpack, and lack of oomph of the signature hot rod spoiler
