Seeing all of these great updates by Fans Toys makes me really, really want a Starscream as good as this Hot Rod and their Galvatron. I feel like when/if they ever do it, they'll be the company to finally truly nail the seeker design.

 

The only problem the car mode has is that spoiler is a bit elevated. The rest are just excuses. We got it you want it to be more pointy than roundy. You want a flipflop because thats what TT designs. Too bad.

That said finaly that idiot HotRod has a decent figure.

 

Don't care about alt mode, he will be standing tall with kup, springer, and arcee.

He does have a targetmaster. I thought he did. The BBTS preorder does not indicate he includes one. The targetmaster is standard on all releases and not an exclusive, right?

 

I wish I was able to sell off some of my collection. I just can’t do it. I like seeing the progress of development over the years.

 

So far I don’t thing Fanstoys has had an exclusive like MMC. I think that all retailers get the same thing. If one comes with target master they all should. Koot has one but most people just don’t show it on their shelves.

 

Not sure why this was the decision here. MP-28 has the one flap also. Not a fan of the one flap.

 

Wanted to do a quick edit to see where the hands hang if the shoulders are on a pivot like the TFCON proto suggested, I was worried they would sit too low if the shoulders were dropped.They don't appear to and it looks good.

Still think the vehicle is a stinker and always a shame when one mode is clearly prioritised over another but I am liking the bot (pending shoulder vertical adjustment is possible )

 

So I'm going to preorder this as my mp28 is to short next to kup and arcee. That's my biggest gripe with the official now. And when x transbots vitus shows up all will be good. Never like fanstoys springer, to heroic looking.

 

I really like the proportions more and more, definetly a figure which is growing on me. I don't have or had own any of the previous interpretations of Hot Rod, i will buy this no doubt.

Alt mode is kind of "meh" but i don't care much for alt modes, specially when they are not inspired by a real car.

 

Did you raise the spoiler in this shot?

 

This looks great and so does the price (60 quid for us brits) but i cant decide whether its worth the upgrade on the official MP.

Die cast thighs and target master helped push me over the edge

 

I have some loose rules I go buy to save money, space and dusting. One being only the one version of each character. Unless I can find a good reason to keep more than one I tend to replace things as I go along.

I used to have a huge collection with multiples of many characters and moulds but I tended ti find I appreciated each toy less thr larger my collection got.

 

So I did a little price matching and found some interesting results:

BBTS - $89.99 + $4.00 flat shipping fee

TFSource - $89.99 + $9.91. (I couldn't find their shipping cost so this is based on a previous purchase I made from them for MMC Sphinx)

Toy Dojo - $89.99 + ??? (like TFSource they brag about free shipping on orders over $150.00 but I couldn't find what they charge when you don't spend that much but obviously the inference is that they charge some amount)

Scramblecore - closed for business.

Lastly, these guys I've only recently heard of and don't know if they're reliable but their price is the best so far...

But if you put similar boots on Hot Rod it would be more like he was cosplaying as KISS.

Two big reasons:

1.) The chest looks hideous on the official.

2.) The official is too short. Especially when compared to FT Arcee, Kup and Springer.

Here’s the parts you forgot tho:

TFSources free shipping sucks donkey dick. Yes, it’s free, but depending where you live in the U.S it may take about a week to get to you. Or more.

BBTS - will sit in the warehouse for 2-3 days before any actual shipping takes place

Show.Z - may be cheaper but ships from China. Gotta go an extra mile if and when you need any replacement parts and said parts won’t get to you for awhile regardless.

ToyDojo - will ship the same day or next, and even though it’s free shipping; it’ll still get to you in less than a weeks time.

I’d say anymore ToyDojo and ChosenPrime are pretty much the best places you can order from anymore. There really is zero incentive to order anywhere else.

 

the alt-mode is fine to me...at least it looks like it has clearance to actually roll. I started to get the MP-28 as my Rodimus, but the look of the chest always bothered me, and the fact that people always had trouble standing him wouldn't work in my house...too much activity going on.
