Just got mine from ShowZ 2 days ago and no overpaint issue!

Personally, love him. I thought I was forever doomed to pay aftermarket prices or never have him. I'll grant that XTB has a better alt mode and not arm-legs for the cannon, but i don't like the rounder, softer proportions on his bot (way worse on Cyclonus), and FT wins on facesculpt, as they usually do, which is so key to a lot of these guys. Sovereign is so menacing and stunning to look at, and I honestly don't know how much people play with bots of this size, but I barely miss the ab crunch or other minor articulation quibbles.

Just need to print off a complete chest plate for Magnus and paint his face blue.

Order in for £130, happy with that :D

I gotta say, I spent some time scrutinising XTB's against FT16 and I find I don't care about the alt mode accuracy; FT16 looks just fine I prefer the bulkier proportions and use of translucent plastic. Plus Abaddon looks like he's gonna have a lot of panelforming, so not a fan of the potential transformation there. The arms as cannon mode stilts never bothered me either. Similarly, ab crunches don't bother me either.
Sovereign really does just look the part and looks to have sufficient articulation for my needs. TB's post above just highlights it- I don't care for toy colours, but it really does show how good FT16's sculpt is. He's an immaculate looking figure.

Agreed on Cyclonus too; I'm not a huge fan of the way Quietus' arms transform for alt mode, but he's another stunner.

I debated switching to Abaddon as well, but the more I compared the two, the more I appreciated Soverign as the “ideal” Galvatron. His “Street Fighter Alpha” proportions just make him look more imposing and someone who commands respect and obedience, compared to the more realistic proportions of Abaddon. Both look phenomenal, so there really isn’t a wrong answer between the two as far as looks go.

That suits the toy look for me. Abaddon looks pure Movie version. Best of both works then but I appreciate not everyone collects both styles.

I really love the toy colors deco, but it doesn’t fit in my collection and the missus got that twitch in her eye when I showed her a pic… lol

hopefully Fanstoys or FansHobby makes an Energon Megatron and that will be close enough for me.

Aww, this little boxy guy looks so happy perched on Galvatron's cannon.

Got the reissue a few days ago, this is my first experience with this figure, he's really cool.

My reissue just arrived- I LOVE this figure. Design, heft, articulation, finish, transformation is involved but not painful, this guy is just perfect. I can 100% say he is never leaving my collection!

The waist tab going into bot mode was tricky to get back in place, pretty tight.

Excellent figure, thanks for the advice before! Now just the wait for Scourge :D

I dithered about Sovereign T for a while. My favourite Galvatron look is from the UK comics, which has several differences from the toy. But, having got XTB Stack, I had to get him a friend.

I LOVE Sovereign. I had the original release, but thanks to an awesome dude here, I got the movie colored version. Sovereign is one of the most solid Transformers ever. I mean, the core of this figure is practically solid die-cast. It's a beast of a figure and I love it. The more movie-accurate metallic color really makes this guy look amazing.

Yeah, I've never had a problem with the arms in alt-mode or the ab crunch on Sovereign. In fact, I never even thought about the arms until I heard people talking about them on here.

I recently got the latest reissue, and found that the side-panels, the ones that cover the gaps that the arms slide down into for transformation, are quite loose. The strong ratchets in the shoulders mean that any time I try to adjust the arms down, it instead makes those side-panels pop out and the arms start to slide down. It's kind of frustrating, because the rest of him is quite solid. It doesn't seem like I missed some way to plug the panels in or anything, they just seem to sit in the gaps without plugging in.

I don't seem to have that problem on mine. All the joints on mine are good.
