Haha, thank you!! I guess I never noticed that somehow
What he said!
Personally, I think that sovereign is a fantastic model, and I do not believe that takara or Hasbro could make a masterpiece model that could even compare to it.
He is very good. But it's also been four years since his original release. I'm sure another manufacturer is going to take another run at Galvatron.
Fanstoys figures have a heroic/menacing stature in bot-mode, like they walked out of my imagination.
A Takara Galvatron would look like the cartoon and would beat the Fanstoys in engineering and gimmicks but not in presence. The cannon mode would probably look better also. Unfortunately, they will probably never release one to prove me wrong or right.
If they cant beat a 4 year old + whatever years it will take them to create one figure, they better close up shop.
Why would Takara stop making Masterpiece figures if they know that there is a solid base of consumers out there that will justify and shell out big money for Bumblebee V.3 or Optimus Prime V.9?
Rethink the point.
I agree, he looks utterly fantastic. Really like his design. But will I get it? Don't know yet.
Probably selling my copy, complete with packaging. Looking to get around $220. PM me if interested.
Not too bad. He's pretty damn heavy. A bit concerned he may tip over.
He probably won't. I have had him displayed in quite a few poses with no trouble at all. He's a good figure. Congrats on getting him. Transformation is a pain in the b*tt though.
Despite how the toes might seem easy to wiggle I've always found this guy to be very stable.
Could you use the flight stand to ensure he doesn’t topple? If you’re worried that is.
I havent pulled the stand out. Might have a look. Yeah I wont ve transforming him haha Im a display and admire collector
Personally, I think Sovereign is quite overrated. I sold mine within 1 month.
There's gotta be another company out there that can do Galvatron better and it shouldn't be that hard, be it TT or any other 3P player.
Sovereign is simply way too heavy, and just for the hell of it. The alt mode is complete shit. Sure the bot mode looks OK if what you like is an stylized and overly heroic looking Galvatron.
It is by far, the best option available TBH, but then again that ain't saying much considering the non existent competition it's up against (they are all shit).
I'm afraid that I must disagree, I have watched and read many reviews on sovereign and am very happy with the model, perhaps you simply do not appreciate a good figure when you see one, it has a substantial amount of diecast built into it, it is extremely poseable, and any other companies who compete with it, (DX-9 tyrant for example), are not in the same league.
This is kinda a dirty word in this thread, but have you tried Tyrant?
DX9 made a very nice figure of MP Galvatron, and it has a very nice alt mode and is a joy to transform. Solid, good transforming toy, and quite handsome. I have both that one and this one, and enjoy both for different reasons.
Something tells me he thinks Tyrant is part of the "shit" competition. Maybe I'm wrong but just a guess. Personally I'm buying Tyrant exclusively for Alt mode because I don't like Sovereigns either. BTW, I already own Sovereign and I'll display sovereign in bot mode and Tyrant in alt.
