My FT-16M finally arrived in the mail today. And all I can say is....my god. Because Sovereign is now my god. I've never seen such a beautiful figure before. I will worship him always.

 

Just make sure to pay your tithes every Sunday.

For me, Sovereign is arguably the best 3P figure I’ve ever seen. Not just a perfect rendition on the character but the size and weight feel in character as well. The criticism of the alt mode and transformation are way overblown.

 

Tyrant's cannon can be modified and still work with Tyrant by modifying the tab, but it's tricky.

 

Damn, now I wish I'd held onto Tyrant for that. Our lord Sovereign deserves a bling cannon.

just paint one of the cannons, that's why you have 2. unless you think the FT fanbois will draw and quarter you.

 

I prefer sovereigns cannon as it seems less cartoony in proportion and more like a real, serious cannon, plus the hole is bigger for more bloosh to come out.

 

Actually, I'm quite keen on that idea. Don;t suppose you or anyone else knows what kind of paint would be suitable? All I have are the revell enamel variety.

 

have Tamiya gold but that might be too light, brass or bronze might work better. of course you could start mixing paints, but that can be an exercise in frustration if you have to put another coat on to get the shade exactly the same.

 

TFW you notice a tiny white speck in Sovereign's chest paint...

   This is why I'd rather just have nice shiny unpainted plastic. Paint is beautiful but it's a cruel mistress that always makes me feel terrible in the end. The same thing happened a while back with My Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord and Megazord, and I still haven't mentally recovered...


I wonder, does anyone know some good correction pens/paints that can touch up little imperfections like this, and specifically one with a good color match for Sovereign (and every other Fanstoys figure, since I'm sure I'll keep finding little imperfections like this the more I look at my collection). I feel like it would be a simple process to just dab a teeny tiny bit of paint on there to cover up the white speck that is currently drilling into my brain.

 

Try Tamiya Purple-X16. Closest match I could find for touch up.

 

Sorry if this is an annoying question; I’m newish to Fanstoys collecting and been pretty busy with grabbing awesome products. Is FT-16M Sovereign being rereleased in 2020? or

 

Nobody knows; it was stated last year it was going to get a second release but it’s not a reality until retailers start taking preorders.
