As neat as Gundog is, I think that I might end up waiting for Willis.

 

So is it confirmed that FT is only going with the darker green and not the lighter toon version? I'm thinking I'm going to have to wait on the lighter version since they have released multiple colored versions of their figures.

Once official pics come out with the new head sculpt, I'm thinking this will finally be my first FT purchase. The bot and alt mode looks perfect!

Give me the face sculpt and color I need FT!

 

i hope the guy who did this get's to tackle ironhide/ratchet - trailbreaker/hoist - inferno/grapple & jazz somewhere down the line aswell.

i'd happily invest money towards making that reality.

 

well so far with the dinobots they are doing both toy and toon versions,so unless stated otherwise it would be safe to assume that thats how they will do it with Willies too

 

The head sculpt for this guy is spot on to the cartoon, its amazing

Are there any jeep mode size comparison pics of this guy? I wonder if he's oversized like Gundog.

 

I wonder if Willis will come with any accessories? A squared off clear mask that clips in and covers his face would be cool. I believe there was an episode where he used it underwater to save spike. Also maybe a hologram driver. These would be neat pack ins IMO. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head ATM. Anything else?

As far as the color goes,for me personally.....I like what FT is currently using. His color was all over the place in the toon. From dark green,to light green and everything in between. Just give me the toon deco with the correct yellow stripes on the arms and waist along with the solid yellow star and I'll be happy.

 

Same. This one looks to be more toon accurate especially in the feet and waist

How can that be possible? If they were meant to be more toy accurate then they would just look like the original toys.

Going by the GunDog vs. Willis vs. Detective I wouldn't even consider this a contest as Willis is the clear winner by a mile,his overall look nails it of what G1 Hound looked like on the show.

Whereas GunDog is just a tad too bulky in the chest,and his face looks too generic it don't even remind me of Hounds face.As for Detective all I can say is he looks like a cross between both CHUG and Masterpiece,they are fine as their own separate lines but when you start mixing the two together they just look too crammed,they should have stuck with just doing one or the other not joining both lines.

All-in-all I would say Willis wins with a 9.8,GunDog in second with 9.5,and Detective in last place with 9.0,I just wish FansToys would hurry up and release Willis,the wait is killing me.

 

What sold me on Willis is something so small and petty but I totally adore - the wing mirrors folding down.

 

I'd still like to see it in Shiro's toy color...including the slightly greenish-white thighs.
