Meh. I'm still more than happy with my Original FT Phoenix. There is no doubt This is the Definitive Skyfire to me.

I'm proud because it's the first release version. I still recall how fucking excited I was when it was first released and when it was first put up for preorder. Even today nothing on it is broke, chipped, scratched, loose. it's just perfect still. Skyfire was and always will be my top favorite Autobot. I think it was his G1 toy Bio that first got me into him. then when I saw him in the show it just solidified why I love him. His appearance in the old Dreamwave Comics cemented why I love the character.

Anyway, sorry for blabbing.

If you still haven't picked this guy up in either version, How can you call yourself a Skyfire fan? BUY HIM ALREADY!

I decided to grab a FT Phoenix from a Chinese EBay seller, it was listed as misb however when the figure arrived (very quickly) I noticed a few things I haven’t experienced on a new misb FT figure before.
The round stickers/tape they used on the display box didn’t have the usual FansToys writing on it.
Inside on the polystyrene box instead of the usual FT tape used on each of the 4 sides was tape wrapped around the whole polystyrene box.
Inside the bio card was loose and not sealed with the instructions.
Figure doesn’t seem used and even has the tissue around the wings and little polystyrene blocks around his back.
Has anyone received a new Phoenix like this before or have I been given an expertly repackaged Phoenix?

Even though the figure, after only a quick 5 min check seems fine i’m Pretty anal about my figures and if I’ve purchased a figure sold as misb then I don’t expect any less.
Any advice / opinions will be greatly appreciated.

 

Did you buy it from onedaybid? I got exactly like this when I bought Stomp from them. They list it as brand new but the item was obviously used. I think you should return it, the one you got is 100% not new.

 

I don't think this is literally MISB. Seller must have taken great care to repackage it and keep all the original wrappings on (paint and figure covers...etc), but i've not yet encountered a straight from factory package done in that manner.

Seller could have just opened and inspected the unit and then put it back in Box and then decided to call it MISB since that was all they did, but i could be wrong.....

 

Yes it was! Did you return your Stomp? And if so was it problematic?

 

They accept return no problem, you can also get the shipping return fees from them as well. Initially offer me a partial refund, but I rejected it and went ahead and return the item. I paid nearly 400 dollars becasue I want a brand new Stomp and I would not settle for anything less. I would highly recommend anyone not to get the older, harder to find figure from Chinese seller, they have tendency to get a used figure and sell it as new. The brand new, just released items usually does not have this problem, only the older figures.

 

My advice, if there's no issue with it and it's still to your liking, consider yourself good, and lucky. And from there, don't shop with that seller anymore because next time you might not be so lucky. But if THIS TIME everything is well enough, leave well enough alone. If you want to "do" something about it, leave neutral or negative feedback stating you seemed to have received a repackaged figure in good working order, but not MISB as advertised.

They stuck an Autobot insignia on the head?

 

The previous owner probably did, and onedaybid forgot to check the Dino head, so they didn't remove the autobot insignia before sending it to me.

 

@Craigmcgowan1984 I know you've bought quite a bit from one*day_bid. Have you experienced this before?

 

Onedaybid are trash as far as I’m concerned.

Tell them them you’re not satisfied and leave negative feedback otherwise they’ll keep doing it

 

 ...3rd party figure MISB with an insignia already installed???? i think not good sir......Yep....wouldn't take anything less than a full refund in this case as well.....

That’s because someone opened it. That is not a factory sealed FT box the way it left the factory. If that’s how it was listed. FT never tapes the styrofoam boxes like that.

 

Yeah I was thinking that as I've bought quite a few FT products.
Just thought maybe they might have run out of their FansToys labelled tape!
