C4C9ABB9-DEF1-4900-BFDB-0FF7CB11FA3E.png This pic shows off the X sheen nicely. Have no idea who took it. Just stunning. I still can’t get over how lucky we are to have Fanstoys. I don’t care if it’s being a “fanboy” or drinking the kook aid. We are friggin lucky to have this as TF fans and like Cinderella coined... Don’t know what you got till it’s gone.

This is probably one of the best photos I've seen that actually captures his finish. Nicely done.

true. i budget for one, and I went with regular version. for x version, for that price, they better put LED in his eyes and guns. actually one day LED eyes and weapons should be a standard configuration.

i was willing to wait for a 40cm G1 skyfire to match my weijiang oversized OP and Meg. but i think it's little chance that will happen. so I went with this FT version which is still a head taller than those guys.

FT's products in general are good, but not perfect. it's a benchmark. there always some other companies come along and make bigger better bots.

Kind of surprised that Open and Play hasn't taken a shot at making a $150 version of Skyfire, cannibalizing parts from Siege and Phoenix.

Problem is the red on the legs isn't accurate to anything...and far more metallic than the 'metallic' red on the X version. If the original had matching reds, and not the leg red, I wouldn't have bothered with the X. I didn't bother with the X till I saw it wasn't very 'metallic' looking at all.

It bugs me and I'd like to change it... would it affect the figure from a collectors point of view though...?

IF done properly I personally wouldn't be bothered buying one where the leg vents have been painted to match the backpack better on the original deco. Problem is many "modders" THINK they've done a bang up job where my view isn't necessarily as charitable, lol.

Really was the weirdest choice to make them 2 different reds. WTF was FT thinking? Of course they fix it on the pricier version that’s hard to get due to the limited numbers.

But also mess with the white parts and the eyes so it's not ideal either.

I don't think any other 3P MP G1 Skyfire will be able to match or beat Phoenix. MMC Ocular Max PS series might come close if they tried.

Open and play doesn't meet or beat anyone, except in price.

Figured they would be likely to go the cheap chicken route, delivering a moderately ok Skyfire at a cut rate price.

Is Open & Play even around anymore? Haven't heard anything from them since their Galvatron.

The different reds on Phoenix bothered me at first, but I got over it quickly enough. The rest of the figure makes up for that odd choice.

I seem to remember that reissue had a clip altered as the original was prone to breaking, was this the case? If so is it better to get a reissue?

It was only bad if you really forced it. Some slight sanding made life better too. The reissue fixed the minor clipping issue.
If you like the look/color of the original, don't let the minor issue stop you from it.

    Thanks!
In reissue I meant of FT-10 as opposed to FT-10X
So they changed the clip on the X version. Did they also do it for the reissue of the regular?

Sorry, don't know the reissue of the regular was an actual reissue or just shipping out the rest of the first run to vendors.
