We've all seen it now through multiple video reviews and photo galleries.
Many of us look forward to a 3P delivering a better UM, one that emphasizes botmode scale rather than altmode scale, and can actually have much of the missing articulation and posability as a result.

Well, from the looks of it, it isn't rec chrome but metallic paint So that shouldn't be any worry.

But the metallic red on his legs looks a lot better to me than the red plastic of the backpack. If I buy this and the backpack stays the way it is, I might just paint it to look better.

Ahh, just the man I was looking for, how do you strip paint off plastic, I seem to recall you mentioning something about it the other day?

Chrome or plastic on the legs? Surprise, surprise! I just ordered this gentle white giant because he looks absolutely gorgeous and I don't give a shit about such minor details. Bring it on, FT!

Isopropyl 90 usually does the trick. For a full strip, soak it for 15-20 minutes then scrub it off with a toothbrush. Resoak and rescrub as necessary. For stubborn paint I usually put a capful of lacquer thinner in with the alcohol, less if I don't have much alcohol. I use a glass mason jar, and I reuse the alcohol a few times. A jar usually lasts me a few figure's worth. Don't strip translucent plastics. It'll dissolve them.

Enameled diecast is harder. I use paint stripper, soak for an hour, then scrub with a stiff wire brush. Rinse/repeat until the paint is gone.

if its anything like the eyes they use silver chrome with translucent paint over the top as i found out with the new sever face sculpt when i removed the translucent paint off the eyes to reveal silver chrome , could be the case here as looks lighter more see-through on the vents

During the Hasbro Jetfire time, i saw many were using SuperClean to remove the chrome and have it at bare red plastic. Has to stay in it a few hours. Havent tried myself, but very important you separate the part from the rest that may have paint, or from clear plastic, as it will remove them. Anyways, research this one, i think many customizers are using it.

Adjusted shelf heights today to make space for him... looks like this cabinet is tall enough to fit him on either side without having to adjust the shelves again. Woot!

Phoenix might be smidgen tall but he does look like a great figure.

I'm pretty happy with my CW Devy though so Fanstoys would have to do something extra special for me to switch.

I think they should include a full stand even if it costs £5-10 more.

I don't like the metallic red either but I don't think you'll have be a master customizer to remove it and then tape the area off and repaint in a matching red. Yeah, it sucks to change a strange aesthetic choice FT made with this guy but there's not much else you can do about it ya know?

Yeah, the only difficulty will be finding a matching red.

The only difficulty for you perhaps. Most folks aren't exactly artists or figure painters. =P

That was what I said. I want this guy 100%, I just think I would like the backpack red better is all. I like the red chrome, just think it clashes a bit with backpack. Maybe the idea was that in jet mode the chrome
    Looks like shiny metal vents.
