Bobby is a regular human being... Don't take his personal opinion too seriously...

I do disagree with Mr. Skullface about a few things regarding his "Figure of the Year" lists, however it really is just his Opinion. On my list, Grinder takes it.

How's the stylized dino head in person? Would I need to get the extra g1 head?

Well, the newer head is much closer to G1 accurate. Almost too close, if you believe the reasons for a C&D letter that apparently happened in the UK. That said, the Grinder stock head is very tyrannosaurus accurate. It looks more like a Jurassic Park T-rex, rather than an 80s toy T-rex. I like them both... though I have them both. The original heads are long sold out; the X heads are running out, it seems.

Thanks. I saw Grinder on ebay, and I wanted to get him, but I can't find the heads anywhere. I think he'll be fine with his original one anyway.

I, too, have lamented (several times in this thread) about the rarity/scarcity of the "normal" Dino Head.

I've also asked a number of times, so PLEASE, would someone who owns the X head, confirm or deny if it's the "regular" gray under silver paint???!!

I think there are a few unpainted areas on Grinder X, but I don't have it so I can't say what it looks like compared to normal Grinder. If someone has both, maybe they could look and see if they are the same shade of grey, and that would probably be what the X head uses.

Unfortunately, based on just what I've seen in video reviews, it looks like it may actually use a lighter shade of grey compared to the normal Grinder.

I can understand why a Collector would feel they Need the G1 style Dino Head, but personally, I think the Default Noggin gives him a more "lethal", and less "dorito-tooth" look. He is a T-Rex, after all!
Honestly, this is a question you should be asking yourself. While I can certainly tell you what I like, and will happily do so while trying to offer as much help as I can, are You going to be happy with a less Cartoon Accurate Figure in Your Collection?

Yesterday it was reported that FansToys would be reissuing The Grinder G1 head again... no eta though. The X head would have the bluish chrome teeth, no?

I bought the toon head just to have it, but I MUCH prefer the stock head on my Grinder....

The toon head sits in storage never to be used.

Try Testor Model Master. You can get it at any hobby shop or even hobby lobby. Goes on very smooth and consistent in my experience. Ever regular Testors will do in a pinch but I like their MM series best.

Screw it, I put the G1 head for regular Grinder in my sales thread.

I need funds more than a head I'll never use.

    FansToys release schedule (past/present)

It's interesting because I *thought* I read that FansToys wouldn't be doing any more Grinder G1 Heads... I guess there's a lot of demand for them.
