Preordered the G1 head on BBTS as soon as it was up for preorder. Today I recieved an email from BBTS stating that they could only fulfill X amount of orders and that I didn’t make the cut. Everywhere else is sold out. So is that it? I know know that the colour variation versions are coming, but are there going to be more of the original color?

 

Waiting for people to ask FT to reissue the G1 head...I need one  

 

That, my friend, is some grade A bullshit. I'd be super pissed if I were you. The last I heard, FT was not planning on a reissue. Maybe check with @rubadubspawn. Maybe he's got a connection with a spare one.

As for BBTS, they usually have good customer service, but it's super shitty to not tell you that until it was sold out everywhere. If they told you sooner you might have been able to grab one elsewhere.

 

I've had a Grinder head sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks now, still waiting for Grinder himself to arrive.

Makes me feel weirdly like some kind of insane big game hunter. I'm out to hunt the most dangerous game of all... transforming robot dinosaurs!

 

If my Shockwave had looked like that he'd still be on my shelf..well done.

 

I don’t really blame BBTS, by the time it came out, it was already sold out(everywhere that I looked, anyway). If I had found it somewhere else, I would have bought it.
I’m more annoyed with FansToys for underproducing this item.

 

Where would you order Grinder from if you wanted him by Christmas?

 

I'm pretty sure he's sold out at all of the normal US retailers and from most of the trusted Asian ebayers.

He seems to be in stock at ShowZ (FansToys FT-08 Grinder) but in my experience with them "In Stock" doesn't really mean they have it. Worth a shot though if you're looking for a reliable Seller. and free shipping. Getting here by Christmas is questionable, shipping from them normally takes about 2 weeks for me since it's coming from Asia. They might have some faster shipping options available for a higher price though.

Yesterday I went to pick up a parcel from my parcel locker in the pouring rain, got soaked. When I got there I realised that I'd only half read the text notification and the full message said that the lockers were full and I'd have to pick it up from the post shop. But it was 7PM and they were closed of course. So I had to go this morning and be late for work, and it's at the wrong shop so I had to take a tram... and now here I am at work with a massive parcel under my desk. Might have to skip the gym today just to take it home.

If it's my Grinder it'll all be worth it though

Just initial impressions here, he's barely out of the box - obviously he's awesome. But a couple of minor things - is it just mine or does the robot head feel oddly loose? It stays in place fine but when moving it around it just doesn't have as much friction as I'd expect. Feels like a pretty loose ball joint. Also the outward movement on the hip joint, the friction part - in one pose I found it slipped a bit. Not like uh oh this is going to fall over levels, but it did give a bit under the weight.

P.S. I have to make room on my desk again, he is a big bastard.
