It is strange these are listed as pre-orders as that implies FansToys have started reissuing yet no other store has these listed. On the other hand (even though I've never ordered from them) isn't this store on the same level as Kapow and TFSExpress in the UK?

That Stomp reissue seems very strange to me. He's a real in-demand figure (someone is even trying to sell him on Ebay for $1500 USD) so I find it kind of difficult to believe that one random store in the Netherlands has an exclusive pre-order reissue deal with FT, yet none of the major retailers have even mentioned this, let alone posted a pre-order for him. I'd be highly cautious about proceeding until you can get more info from the shop making this claim.

Edit: looks like I'm not the only one with concerns. Caveat Emptor.

Yeah, I used PayPal so should be protected. I agree it seems shady. I’m hoping they have new old stock. Like they bought a case or two from somewhere and know it’s coming. I don’t expect it’s a legit new run.

I've bought from the store many times and their service is great, just like TFS.Don't think they are reissues, just some left over stock.
He also had Grinder pre orders that are in stock now.
The guy also has a store in the Netherlands. Never been there though.

Anyone other than the guy who told us about the stock that can vouch? No offense, lol. How’d you hear about them?

Years ago I saw the website, I asked my fellow TF collectors in the Netherlands and they said the store was OK. Mostly he is more expensive than TFS express for me, but if the amount is roughly the same, I buy from him.
Any other fellow (dutch) collectors had experience with this store?

I order from TFrobots all the time. The owner is called Kevin and has great service and good communication via facebook messenger. So if you've ordered you don't have to worry.

I've turned away from Fanstous almost entirely partly because of this kind of stuff.

I get that frustration, but I also get that it's that same scarcity that props their value up and makes them worthwhile investments.

I don't need to tell you to go and look at the BST for proof. You know as well as I do that if you go there you'll see sellers who have been trying for months to sell lower priced/lower tier stuff with little to no movement or interest. For various reasons and market shifts the demand just isn't there. But if you look at higher end lines who are attempting to turn out quality product (like FT, but there's others for sure) those figures are usually gone pretty quickly (and often times at a higher price than what that the seller originally paid for the item). This healthy market in turn fuels better designs, materials and practices from the competing studios as they seek to provide the best product for a competitive price. That's a win/win in my book (though no doubt that paying the late tax does suck, but reissues often come out to remedy that from time to time).

So at first blush it does look like a crappy situation, but it actually makes for a healthier market for buyers and sellers. Now what will really suck is if one company (FT or otherwise) begins to control more of the market and thus can raise their prices because of a lack of good competition. Hopefully all the studios out there can weather this current pandemic though and keep churning out good stuff to help keep that balance in place.

This is correct. I put a FT Dinobot (Sever) up on BST a few days ago. Had two potential buyers contact me within 12 hours (the first contacted me within 2 hours).
