I was reading this post and it reminded me of the comic below. Seems appropriate enough to me to post it.

 

I'm revoking my fan card: I am having trouble seeing the difference in this X version!  

I get it: it has shiny silver paint... right? Is that it?

Am I the only one who physically needs to see the two next to each other to determine if one is better than the other?  

Sometimes these releases seem so minute to the detail that I just get lost. But I guess at $225, casuals need not apply?

Will there be a Diaclone version? I know the Diaclone Sludge has a red torso, but I've seen also one with a blue torso. So I'm wondering if there will be a blue D version of it?

Yes, Silver paint (X version) vs none painted dark grey plastic (Regular Version). You are paying for the extra paint application, if you like the look.

No Diaclones for Stomp, only for Scoria / Sever / Grinder

Stomp-X looks really nice! I hope they reconsider doing a blue regular version. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. (and then finally pick up blue scoria too)

The x-versions with their shiny silver are supposed to match up with the shiny MP-08X King Grimlock (or the oversized ko MP-08X King Grimlock named Reximus Prime).

Is there a reference point to the clear wings, or are they just supposed to look cool and different?

 

I was never much of a follower of the early tf comics, but man this stomp x looks hella sweet. I might have to dip in on a ft dinobot as well even though I originally was gonna go in on gigapower

First I finished my MMC Reformatted goal, now I can see the light for my FT Dino X team, and then, I can sleep  .

 

Yup no need to pay full price on any FT-Dibot. I have never have and never will.

 

I haven't been keeping up with Stomp as I had been waiting on the X version. Does Stomp have two sets of eyes/optics or a MP-08 switch gimmick for Bot and Dino modes? I see only Blue optics in the Bot mode photos, and only one shot in three of Red optics for Dino mode. I'd like to have consistency with Red Optics for all my FT-X Iron Dibots.

 

Is it clear wings or just the chrome wings with blue tint like the chrome on the Takara Comic Grimlock MP-08X? I can't really tell from the pics.

Edit: Nevermind, I just read the description, it does come with transparent wings. Doh!

 

Ok this question is really for anybody who knows the answer, I've asked before and nobody seems to know.

If these are meant to match the limited MP-08X, why didn't they change the black parts to blue to match Grimlock?

 

I would imagine it's the same reason Reximus Prime (Oversized MP-08X KO) is being re-released as painted silver/black - it looks better. Comic blue was only used because of printing limitation on black at the time (e.g. 70's/80's Batman). Silver/Black matches the G1 Box Art and the intent of the comics. I like that FT went the route they did.
