@dalianjj the Iron Dibots are tremendously popular, and there have been multiple re-releases over the past 5 years. With the recent official brand's movement towards cartoon accuracy, the Iron Dibots are starting to look a little long in the tooth. Years ago, you mentioned the possibility of more cartoon accurate paint jobs, but that never happened. Today, the Dibots molds could be lightly retooled to match the cartoon with just a little extra effort. Any chance of that happening in the next few years?

The fandom: What say you? Would you support more cartoon-accurate Dinobots? I realize the Dinobots are VERY simplified in the cartoon, but something similar to MP44, MT Meteor, etc with simplified panel lines, soft curves instead of hard lines, etc.

Nah, just sell the replacement parts for the gold chrome with yellow. Don't feel like laying another $1000.

I'm a GP guy, but that said, I'm sure toon colored Dibots would be popular enough for a limited release.

Heck, once it's called a limited release and people see them, several if not a bunch of us will change our minds suddenly and pre-order or pay the late tax.

    Not me though ...

I would buy a G2 Stomp and Soar to finish that set, or just a larger Stomp (but not changed to match the ugly Takara style), but that is it. The MP-10 styling of Toon inspired is much better then the toon accurate MP-36/44 look anyway.

Gigapower hits the spot for me. That being said, a poll asking for cartoon paint scheme pops up every year or so. The results of the last poll IIRC said they dont need another set. Seems sentiment is still the same.

I'm still waiting, there will be toon versions eventually... my guess by Takara.

It looks like Fanstoys are aiming for the MP10-MP21 design ethos, so I don't see them doing overly toon designs from a visual standpoint.

Toon colour releases though? Maybe, but even their S3 bots are more gloss and detailed than the pastel colours of the cartoon.

I might be up for them. I went with Gigapower's for my main display and I have zero regrets, but I'd heard enough good about the Dibots that a part of me always wanted to check them out. A new deco might be just the thing to push me to finally do it.

That said, there's plenty of FT projects already in the works that I'd want more, so...

I'll definitely be too old to still be spending hundreds (thousands?!) of dollars on toys by the time they get around to making toon dinobots

It really SHOULD be a no from me, as the existing Dinobots we got work for me...but if FT did 'toon versions, I'd be awfully tempted. I'm kinda hoping they don't tempt ever me with those though, as there remain a bunch of redecos/retools I'd rather see them do (G2 Aerialbots, Greatshot, Galvatron II, toy colors Cyclonus & Blurr, Magnificus and toy colors Perceptor, Insectron clones, Mechabot Omega Supreme) instead of go back to the Dinobot well.

To date, I have not purchased any of the MP Dinobots options. Based on what I have viewed in reviews and such, I am currently leaning towards GP. However I have QC concerns and tbh they're pricey for me. However if FT could somehow convince me with new cartoon Dinobots, enlarged with more cartoon accurate proportions, priced to sell, I am interested in seeing what they could do to improve upon what they're released. But I seriously doubt it will happen or anytime soon with all FT has on their plate, so reality tells me I'll have to take my chances with GP QC, save up loads of cash with the hope they're still available in the meantime. lol

Loved the Dinobot Wars - Love the figures that they brought forth.

But now....Now, I need some me time - apart from the Dinos. Maybe in a few years we can start talking about taking the next step.

No, full toon doesn't work for me. I'm thankful for the fact that I was able to assemble a collection that meshes with the Hasui era figures.

The FT and Gigapower looks great, they do.... but I feel Sludge dino-mode would really benefit from a toon design. The ones we got are a weird hybrid between toon and toy, but don't really hit either mark.
