Neat. I always found that Steel Core trailer and set of Cores a but limiting, if only because there weren't more bots for the Cores to use.

They should make Titan Master (or Diaclone given the Diaclone bot they made) vehicles for all those extra cores to use...

I always only liked Cassy designs that another designer streamlined afterwards (e.g. Feralcons).

As a early render it does pique my interest. I do like the fact that it is a heartmaster and always loved FP's gimmick of having their heartmasters be drivers of their alt modes. Here's hoping the design goes through a few more drafts/revisions to clean things up. I am interested to see how MMC will respond as they have had a strangle hold on the 3rd party IDW design market. I'm sure they already have something designed up in CAD since they already have a mold to milk from. If MMC doesn't maybe this announcement from FP will light a fire within them.

Now that you mention it the head sculpt does give off a Kup vibe, but probably because the face seems aged and old. I currently interpret the design/render as a what if Roller was mashed with Quazimoto from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I'm reserving final judgement until FP has a working prototype though, as I hope this is an early render/draft. If it isn't I fear for FP's future.

 

Definitely waiting to see a physical version before I pass any judgement as I pretty much always enjoy FP designs ‘in the plastic’.

Way more interested in this than their strange Steelcore repaints.

 

I also got a bit of a Kup vibe from the bot mode picture - Kup and Huffer actually.

I had actually hoped it was a new original design like Steelcore, but in this case, I'm willing to roll with it.

True. Early renders of some of the function x series where a bit 'meh', but ended up Fecking sweet.

 

It's all easy fixes really - bring the chest up slightly, bring the shoulders down, raise the head a small amount, fix the face and lighten the paint job.

I wonder if we can convince them to reissue their Insecticons and Riftshot and Recoiler? Hmmmm

 

Yeah. I like Casse's stuff conceptually, but the actual execution, only some of them. Like the Unrustable Bastards, those are incredible. But with most of them...He does detail really well and has some great ideas, but he also recycles a lot of stuff, often has problems with proportions, has some ugly joints (elbows/knees) and his designs have this weird tendency to be very narrow hipped. Plus his headsculpts are almost always just...Not good.

I feel bad for ragging on the dude's work, he's a great guy and he is a major figure in the 3rd party world, but. Yeah.

 

Finally a Quasimodo transformer!!!! They seriously have to fix the head placement.

 

The only thing I’d fix about this design besides the head are his feet. They’re too small. I know a lot of people aren’t a fan of the clown-shoe feet proportions most of Milne’s bots have, but I feel they fit this design perfectly.

Also, he needs a Kremzeek juice box accessory.

 

The “Cores” are the larger bots that the Solerons (little bots) plug into. SteelCore, the figure breaks down into Steel, the little guy, and Corer, the big bot.

I agree though that the Solerons need more stuff to interact with. The trailer wouldn’t be so bad if it had more weapons, both removable and turret style. Along with some tiny vehicles for the Solerons to use like motorcycles or jet packs or something.

One thing I found is that they fit pretty well in the RotF Human Alliance Scouts, to varying degrees. And the C-clip weapons fit right over their little fists, too.

 

Well shit. I happen to have most of the HA Scouts, too. Need to dust out my room, get Steel and see how good he looks weilding these guys...

That orange Soleron is great with the HA tank guy.

I'd also kill for a bot that could use both an FP CoreBot and a PES01-04 HeadMaster; and that had seats for all of them in vehicle mode.
