This post has given me the most hope to get the shells in this thread.

I wish, as others have said, that they had made two versions: standard version and packaged inside the shell. Now we're already 3 bots in so it'd be a dick move to do that to all of us who already have the bots.

 

Agreed. Hell, as someone else suggested, throw the figures inside the shells for shipping.

 

It would have been fine if they had done that from the beginning. If they try selling the shells now only with a figure inside, people who already got the first two (three now) will be forced to buy the figure again..

Thanks for providing this information Peaugh. Hopefully we learn more soon. At this point I don't think I'll go in on the set if I can't complete the set with shells.

 

These shells don't mean much to me but the monstructor shells are a different story. However even the monstructor shells won't make or break it for me just as long as that monstructor has a skull I'll be happy.
Dinoking i am fine with just having the robots.

 

Oddly, for me it is the opposite. Monstructor didn't show up in the G1 comics much, which is still my primary 'base' as it were in the fandom (never got into IDW much).
And the dino shells were used, and showed up, a LOT in Victory. To me their essential to the characters... But not 70+ and convention exclusive essential, especially for non-articulated piggy banks. If these shells were fully articulated I'd be much more willing to accept the current price point (still not the apparent con exclusives status).

Right now, I'm actively hoping that a KO of the shells is made and/or some 4th party makes a set of shells to go with the team.

I wonder if one the retailers would offer a deal similar the the one that was at TFcon for these guys.

 

I wonder why TFCon prices can be that cheap. Someone's reporting that KFC Doubledeck is being sold at 130/140 as well at the Con. Cheaper than regular store prices.

 

thats not cool. that really sucks. Seems like pre-orders should be the cheapest.

 

prob lower because less overhead with no shipping, and with it being straight from the manufactures instead of named stores

 

I believe there are deals at cons because dealers would rather sell their stock at a lower price than have to pay for shipping it back to their warehouse

 

They should offer a 24 hour sale or 24 hour package deal.

 

Perhaps the same deal will happen during Black Friday? Buy the first, second, third and get the 4th free?

I am personally hoping for a deal on MT Utopia.
