I'm thinking about getting these.
What have everyone's experiences with these been?

 

I dig 'em. Watch out for KOs of the original purple and black set.

 

I have the Shrapnel, Thundershred, and I found out later that it's a KO. Does not cause any problems though. There are differences but mine is solid.
Love it. Always thought they are cool designs, and I have this crazy idea that the Insecticons are no bigger than Bumblebee, so it's working for me in my display in a way that Badcube's and FansToys' don't.

 

The Badcube Evil Bug Corps are kind of like a slightly higher quality and more G1 accurate version of them. It depends on what you want. Given how hard it can be to find a mint set of the real FPJ purple set, the Value Pack Badcube set could be the way to go unless you really want the ninja weapons, etc.

 

I'm not after G1 likeness; I'm after highly stylized figures.
I think 3P is best when they make stuff that HAS/TAk won't.
That's why I'm thinking about passing on MP10V and going Maketoys Striker and Rioter.

 

They're great if you dig the anime-esque style of FP (which I'm a fan of). I also feel like this was sort of the peak of their releases (along with Steelcore) where all their figures were well thought-out and consistent, unlike the dinobots in their Lost Exo Realm line.

 

I have the dlx deco ones so not quite the same but almost. I dig em kinda wish I held out for the G1 deco but for classics style bugs I enjoy them.

 

They are superb. The Shrapnel (Thundershred?) is one of my all time favourite figures. Scale works really well for a CHUG display.

If only Fansproject had released their Warbugs. My heart aches for them ;__;

 

i wish they'd release waspinator and inferno in this style and color scheme

I have all 3 MISB but decided recently to focus more on collecting Masterpiece scaled characters. I bought them because at the time I wasn't as focused on G1 looks and thought they were pretty nice looking bots.

 

I love them, they look like ninjas with that set and totally love it... like a logical evolution of the trio

 

Be careful with the notBombshell leg transformation. You can break the ball joint of the foot off its peg if you don't step through the transformation steps correctly before pulling the lower legs in/out(I can't remember which). I've done it after having the figure on a shelf for a long time and forgetting about that part of the transformation scheme.

I had them. They were ok and are good CHUG style insecticons. I don't really miss them though. I can't count how many times I poked myself on notKickback's weapons.

 

Turning them into ninjas was a GENIUS move on FP's part. This set goes into the hall of fame of great 3P designs. Awesome update, awesome twist on the original. It's a huge shame that FP has sort of disappeared.

 

Get 'em. I recently got the trio out of storage and forgot how great of figures they were. So much personality, great quality, good articulation, nice transformations. Puts the official Legends Class Insecticons to shame.

So yeah. I'd say go for it.

 

I have had them for years. They wont be dethroned as the best chug scale insecticons. I also love their ninja theme and supposed element based superpowers

They work extremely well next to Maketoys Cross dimension stuff. That's exactly what I'm using them for at the moment. If you're looking for mooks to pad Rioter D's roster then there really isn't a better pick. The ninsecticons are pretty much in the same aesthetic and they offer a unique themed twist in the same vein as current the CD lineup. The remold 3-pack is great as well and can usually be found for cheap but you don't get the ninja theme.

 

Go for it. You won't regret it. I have both striker and rioter and I can tell you they are what you look for if you like stylized versions of tf characters you like. I also have the FP insecticons since their original release and they remain some of my favorite little guys on the display shelf
