The lack of ankle tilts really irks me. Literally every scout size+ Fansproject product has ankle (or shin) tilts. I don't know why they skipped out on it for this.

Hopefully the stink caused over this one will prompt them to fix it on the next f(x) release. I still think that this looks awesome and am glad it's shipping out so soon.

I still don't think this figure is quite up to FP's normal design standards, but this photo sold me on it. I always loved that the way the Nebulon pilots fit inside the vehicle modes of their transtectors, and this makes it feel properly like Chromedome to me. Sure, the design is a bit clunky, but then I guess Chromedome was always like that anyway.

This figure will benefit a lot from a Reprolabels set, to give him those traditional Camaro-esque headlights and his hood stripes.

Still hoping Hasbro attempts anther Chromedome some time in the future, but just in case they don't (which seems likely) this guy will make a serviceable fill-in for the time being.

I suppose I'm not sold on the Function-X line with this first offering. I've handled Defender and Steel Core a little bit, and I've got Assaulter and the Causality Insecticons...and this just doesn't look like the same kind of stuff aesthetically that FP puts out. I'll wait and see on the others, but so far Chromedome ain't doing anything for me.

It really looks like the FP head could fit in a G1 Headmaster body, but it wouldn't push down the meters. Can anyone try a head swap?

Wow, what an epic pile of crap. No detailing and the headmaster looks worse than the original G1 HM. Such a pity. I think Headrobots could show these guys a thing or two about designing a HM.

These pics make it look much better, but I think if the headmaster were gray instead of white I'd like it much more.

Thanks for the pics. It looks good for what it is (a Classics-style update), but as I'm limiting my collection to MP or MP-level figures, this doesn't fit. It's just too small, for one thing, and the vintage 'bot actually looks more impressive to me.

I'd love to see FP tackle a fully accurate G1 homage, though that seems to be counter to the company's sensibility.

My thoughts exactly. Wouldn't hurt also if his faceplate was more similar orange in color like the G1 headmaster.

Still looks promising, but I agree, the aesthetic style seems a bit different from FP's past offerings.

Anyways, here's hoping Headrobots does a MTMTE version.:)

looks excellent, great pics, but the head isn't transformed properly.

I'm excited about this one. I wish the colors were different, (at the very lease I'd have liked if they could have made the head match the arms plus making the thighs brown along with a red crotch and upper hips. using grey or white instead of tan and maybe made the brown a bit more orange/brown would have also been nice) but whatever. It looks really fun, can't wait to get my hands on it.

I'm a bit disappointed that there looks like there is no way you could get any G1 Headmasters to fit into the head slot, as the tabs for the bars would block inserting them! You could have just put in a little more open space for them to slide it, even if they didn't activate any meter.

If you get a dremel and shave off the little tabs it should work. That is what I did with my HM customs.

I don't have any plan to massacare all my G1 Headmasters for the sake of a badly designed third party toy. I would be more likely to cut an opening in the neck of Code for the tabs.

The G1 head is much bigger, it would look horribly out of place.

Maybe to you. I used Snake on Squeezeplay, the smallest Headmaster body. Worked fine. Code is bigger than Squeezeplay.

Yeah, very lazy design. Just another strike against this figure. So much potential. I really do believe it was rushed out with minimal effort and money put into it. Hence the seemingly low price of $69.

Plus he is NOT deluxe sized. He is actually larger (think Defender sized). Sick of seeing people say how they couldn't make his head any bigger. At this size, they could have put more effort into the HM. Just plain lazy.

I'll admit to finding one or two problems with the color choices, but anyone who calls this thing badly designed either doesn't consider transformation an important aspect of their transformers figures, or hasn't seen this gallery.

I don't think it's a "bad" design, but they missed a few things I would have expected. Better colors on the head, a connector that fits G1 Heads, and ball joints on not-Stylor's shoulders and 3mm clip hands (something even KREONS have!)
