I love space shuttle Transformers of any kind, but wasn't digging the Guyver / super sentai look of the original Flameblast head: So here's a custom I did last year while I was overseas, but finished recently: The head I used for this custom is a recast (using mori-mori reusable molding material) made in Aves Apoxie Sculpt of the FansProject not-Blast Off head, then resculpted. I added panel lining, and painted all the pink plastic areas with Mr. Hobby Super Metallic Chrome Silver lacquer paint. The finished figure was sealed with Mr. Super Clear Flat UV Cut matte spray, and transforms really well still. No rub from paint or sealant. Since 'Blast off' spends his time as a full-time member of my FP'ed Bruticus, I'm happy to have this figure separate for play/display. Hope you enjoy the pics.
While I think the work you've done here is top notch, perhaps you were unaware: the Flameblast remold/repaint is meant to be an hommage to the Micromaster Fireshot, right down to the slightly altered name. take a look: Battle Squad - 1990 Transformers - TFW2005 Fireshot (1990) - Decepticon Aerial Counterattack - www.tfu.info Again, I'm not knocking the work you've done, as it makes it look like the Movor repaint of Blast Off that was released in the Robots In Disguise toyline.
No worries. Thanks for the link Mechadoom. I guess I was going by the bio-card Fansproject included with the figure that positioned Flameblast as (essentially) Blast Off in a new, improved body. I thought the white shuttle was a reference to the RID Ruination / G2 Decoed Bruticus though. I'm just happy to have a generic space shuttle that turns into an evil looking robot.
