I really like this figure. Only problem I had with it was the robot hands being too obviously visible under the raptor claws so I sculpted/painted filler parts under the claw wrists for the hands to fit into. She has thick raptor wrists but I think it looks better and it makes very little difference in robot mode. Just a couple of small protruding parts on the back of the robot arms. At first I was a little let down that her head, neck, and tail only have up and down articulation too, but then I realized all but 2 of my 3rd party dinobots have even less articulation in those areas. Contrary to complaints I'd heard, Triggeredsaurus here doesn't have high heels at all and no parts forming happens unless you want it too. I personally like the raptor claws on the back of her arms as seen in a few of the pictures I have here better anyway. Moving them to be shoulder armor is totally optional. I like how her paint scheme invokes a sort of wrestling diva in a corset look/superhero look much like how the other dinobots have a wrestling singlet or muscle shirt in man-panties/superhero look to theirs. I think she's a great addition to my dinobots. It's great that they went with raptor and female. I envision her as the smartest one on the team. I added gold, silver, and gunmetal paint to the inside of her dino head halves so they look better if I decide to display her with the halves up like wings in bot mode. And of course, gave her Autobot insignias. Robot mode pics were taken before I did the mods to the dino wrists. Sorry. I'll get one of how that looks in bot mode up later.
Why they didn't think to do this themselves is beyond me; it seems like a small thing to do, put pushes this toy from my "not quite good enough to buy" list, to "crap, I want to play with this now!". Care to give us details on how you did it?
Sure! The 7th picture (7229) shows the shape that fills in the wrists with the hands positioned upside down. Just mash some apoxie sculpt into the recessed part under the parts that cover her bot hands and get it vaguely into that shape, where it fills in the hand but comes back out when you lift the part. Once that dries rock hard you'll need to go in and add a bit more sculpt to get it filled in better, and later do some sanding on the sculpted hand fillers to get them flat and decent looking so they don't just look like sculpt wads. Then you just mix paints to match her existing gray and silver, and paint the sculpt. I can see how some people would say she's nice but not quite good enough to get because of the visible hands thing. It is otherwise an excellent figure and I bought it knowing I'd do something to fix that issue. I agree it sucks they didn't do something to hide the hands in the first place.
Thanks for the details; definitely makes the tf look just that much better! On to the want list it goes
Was going to favorite until the triggering jokes. For someone telling people to grow thicker skin, you sure can't let stuff go.
Added a couple of new pics showing another way to position her claws and kibble. Sure I can! For instance, I don't care if you favorite anything or not. I honestly feel that Comera having a definitively female design right in line with many other female Transformers isn't a very reasonable complaint, yet a good number of people have made a pretty big deal out of it. The jokes were just that- jokes. Just poking at what some have bashed this figure for that I find silly. If it bothered you, then I agree you definitely shouldn't favorite it.
I love the dino boobs, I think it's a great homage to old pulp adventures like Conan. I just think it's mean-spirited to insult people who feel uncomfortable with it.
Many people outright insulted others who are fine with how this figure looks, saying things like "for creepy man-children who like breasts on toy robots", "for perverts", and plenty more. I had no intention of making fun of anyone. I'm just on a different side of a view-point. Just like how some people feel they just HAVE to put their beliefs out there to show the moral internet high ground they live on, I feel the need to speak out against the millennial culture that is offended by everything because it tries to ruin fun for others.
