If they don’t fit on the new Magnus armor, no need to worry. I suggest giving them to SteelCore, like I did

I bought UM+FP armor+all the PE fixins off eBay. I loved the look of it but hated the stifled articulation. And he can even use the PE backpack too, for jet pack FUN! But it seems I deleted those pics, so I’ll need to take more soon.

Looks good, no doubt. But like I wrote above, articulation and pose-ability... not so much. I’m just hoping that this new armor allows for more freedom. Along with looking pretty sweet IMHO.

Was a bit hard to line up the chest piece, thought I might snap one of the little tabs at one point. But now that it’s on its pretty solid. The arm gauntlets only tab in at one point, though the origami folding of the rest of the panels helps to keep them in place. I really like the added wrist swivels and I do think the articulation is an improvement over the City Commander armor.

I do have a couple of low points to mention thoug. I wish the connection for the shoulder missles were a bit different. It seems like they just used the same ones as on the OP armor, though I could be wrong. Also, it would’ve been nice if they could have cut out more clearance in the back of the head to give him the ability to look up, even a little bit.

I took a couple quick pics. First one shows how I found another way to connect the guns to the arm kibble. Gives them a more under slung orientation. Last two are of the two guns that came with my CC purchase from eBay. They can’t slit into the fist holes but are being gripped pretty well by the finger joint.

I just have to say, that diorama is insanely awesome. How much does a setup like that run?

Thanks man, they’re mechanical chain bases from Kotobukiya. I have 16 pieces that I bought for around $10 a piece. Some are the real deal, though I do have some of the knockoffs as well.

I just checked on eBay and they run at least double the price now. Waaaaaay more than they’re worth IMHO. I’d recommend checking the sales section. Sometime guys are trying to dump them in bulk. Also there are a couple of similar options on the market now that would probably be better value.

    Happy hunting!

Also curious how Kuma's gonna like these in general compared to the early prime armor sample he reviewed.

Came today. Opened Magnus first... Missing a cannon... yea.

Also, sound be noted that the origins hands on these guys have to be taken off now via unscrewing the figure. Didn't see that mentioned.

That royally sucks that your missing a part! Hopefully FP can send you a replacement quickly.

Totally forgot to mention removing the original hands. There was talk of it in the Optimus thread and I keep forgetting which thread in.

I found another way to store the guns! It absolutely hinders the arms from swinging back and forth, though if you just want him standing in a straight up static pose with arms hanging at his side on your shelf then it works great! Lol

Looks pretty clean from the back. But it does make an already big backpack even more huge.

    79B5A85A-50BC-4A9E-9A17-BC317F2C1AB6.jpeg
The hinges from the shoulder guns and grill piece are what holds them in place, for the most part.

    3E8F63E1-F96D-48E2-B4E8-EF678D86DA90.jpeg
You can see how the shape of the guns, while in wind vane config, fits right into the empty space on either side of his back kibble.

I really like how it fills in those holes, so much that now I think it sorta looks empty without them in place.

    C12DD10A-6B50-4EAC-82DB-FD2C0E0A52A9.jpeg
And here’s a view from the front.

Again, it isn’t a perfect solution, in that it does block a lot of the arms’ movement. But it is an option and I like having weapon storage and finding creative ways to do that is sorta my thing. Checkout my FP and MT combiner threads if you’d like more examples.

Weapon storage. Shake proof and doesn't inhibit articulation. Also retains aesthetic integrity of the piece.

This backpack config of yours really works well, TJ! I made a slight adjustment though. If you angle in the sides on the bottom behind the grill piece it holds even more securely.

I also added on the shoulder missles from my City Commander.

    E9476DE4-715B-4D81-8794-3D820342769D.jpeg

The tab right on by friction and fit pretty well. Little bit over kill on weapons but they look sorta like wings. Makes me wish even more that the head could look up.

Is the new head on a ball joint? I'm wondering how the old Renderform Steelcore replacement heads might look on this since they were Energon Magnus-inspired.

    Nice.
Those weapons storage options, as well as the one shown for mounting on the arm kibble, certainly make these armour sets more appealing to me.

I'm more interested in this one.
I'm wondering how it will look on the Platinum Edition Classics Optimus Prime, though.
