That's so good that the cover is optional, Fans Hobby truly is one of the best companies when it comes to little QoL things like that.

Looking really good, can't wait for him and Double Agent to share a shelf with Double Evil. Will be so satisfying!

Looking very promising so far. I had these guys when I was a kid and it’s kind of a tragedy that they came out at the ass end of G1. They were such cooler figures than most of the more popular classic characters got, and their color schemes were awesome too. Had they been S1 or S2 characters they would have been iconic.

Really glad the engine cover is removable. Gives you the best of both worlds.

I'm hoping these types of releases mean Fans Hobby is heading towards Lightfoot/Getaway. Been dying for a 3P to finally tackle my first Transformer!

Big question is - is the first version going to be in cartoon or comic colors?

You mean Takara or Hasbro colours.

Considering their previous releases that had different decos from Takara and Hasbro, like @Nova Maximus I suspect they will first release the Japanese deco, later followed by the Hasbro colours.

They did this with Minerva (later modified and redone as Nightbeat) and also I think with Ginrai/PM OP.

I don’t know much about the character, but the design of this toy looks interesting. I was messing around trying to visualize what it might potentially look like in color:

Thanks for doing this. It looks good and accurate to the toy version and I think sold me on the toon version with red. I would like to find out if Keith is abandoning these on KFC because I want to get these Fans Hobby versions if they are. Always wanted these figures and they have been teased by KFC since the fricking Apollyon box.

Down for these in the toy colors. I only had the sweep-wing one as a kid, never had the F-16. After all these years, I'll finally get to combine them into their goofy double-ended jet mode and experience the disappointment of that mode firsthand! :D

I don't care about the Masterforce depiction -- but then I don't care about any of the Masterforce versions of characters -- but G1 Dreadwind has a great character. He was used somewhat in the Marvel US run, albeit often with most of his character rather bland (only exception I think in # 77) and featured a bit more in the UK run. But none of these came close to his marvellous bio. Just reading that made me love Dreadwind in the 80's.

I also love the original toy. G1 Dreadwind is one of the best G1 jetformers. F-16's are incredibly difficult to turn into a transforming jet, but G1 Dreadwind was instantly recognisable. The transformation was good and the robot was for its time pretty decently posable. Dreadwind and Darkwing are two of my favourite non-84/85 Decepticons. Great characters and great original toys.

Too bad I'm no longer in the market for MP of anything past the original Ark crew.

You made the prototype look much better, but I still don't like the feet. They seem like such an afterthought, along with the legs that seem too short for the upper body.

I had the original toy as a kid, I want to like this, but I am struggling.

I completely agree about the feet— they look like a temporary improvised solution to allow the figure to stand until a legitimate sculpt could be made. They’re even worse than the feet on Badcube Grump, and that was my main complain with that figure.

As a kid, I “quit” on Transformers in 1987, so I never even saw this toy in its original form. I literally had to Google the character to know anything about him. I like the transformation and feel the design has potential, but it’s not quite there yet. I appreciate the fact that FH attempts characters outside of the popular norms, though.

Fanshobby is like the Rob Liefeld of 3rd party, they struggle with making feet. A lot of their figures (like the junior headmasters) have single or double flaps for feet, and that's it.

Another personal small annoyance is that the place where his Decepticon insignia goes in robotform, has not survived the Fanshobby design process and I just hate that. I like how it was a 'sunken' part of his chest, with a different colour to break up the off-white, leaving a perfect spot to put an insignia. I realise this is just me and that Fanshobby deviates from the original design, but still....

    They did?
