Zeta got temporarily squashed because they stupidly interfered with a Hasbro crowd fund. Makes perfect sense.

Wei Jiang got shut down once they started knocking-off Disney property (Iron Man). Don’t fuck with Disney (or Bandai). Again, makes sense.

But Fans Toys is operating in a small, high end corner of the market. Same as MMC, Fans Hobby, Maketoys, etc. Frankly, the existence of such a corner of the market nourishes interest in Transformers as a brand in all its iterations. That’s ultimately to Hasbro’s benefit, which is why they have seemed to give tacit approval (or at least turn a blind eye).

Why would someone (presumably Hasbro) all of a sudden want to put the kibosh on them? I’m just really perplexed by the whole thing.

 

I don't think it matters nowadays whether it's social media or not. Sure some are worse than others, but they are all mental.

Oh come on, Twitter must be enjoyable for people who like seeing toilet walls from around the world.

 

-The egoist in me, that doesnt have a signle FT figure, says that I dont care.
-The guy who is paying attention to all the market ploys and inflated pricing policy they are trying to pull off, says good riddance.

-The realist in me says that this probably is another one of those stories that got blown out of proportion, and if it contains slivers of truth, thats not good for the hobby in general.

So many rumors flying like that lately, makes me feel content that I achieved my N1 MP objective. Wouldnt mind achieving my secondaries though....

I get what you mean, even though I've never started any FT combiner. But for those who have just bought Thomas it would be disappointing if we'd never see Berserk. Even more so it would suck for fans of their Decepticon Headmasters to not get the third one. That Skullcruncher prototype looked pretty good. From the figures you have listed personally I'd be interested in Cliffjumper and Ravage.

 

Well, at least FT’s Fort Max will be fine. As we just found out thanks to Zeta Unicron, Hasbro can’t sue if you sell the head separately...

 

There are a lot of reasons for a business to cease operations and even more reasons in China. This does not mean it is 3rd party armageddon.

The heat is turning up overseas. If this is true about Fans Toys shutting down all 3rd parties maybe in trouble.

 

How do you know that Hasbro/Takara don’t have a future lawsuit lined up? Maybe I missed something and there was a lawsuit attempt that failed? But I don’t think I did.

You seem rather vested in pushing this FUD. Until we hear from FT or their retailer partners, this is just rumor.

 

I can think of more effective marketing strategies than "we've been shut down!!!"

 

It's not just a rumor. There is actual evidence suggesting that this is real. It may not be real, and we may be misinterpreting the evidence, but it's silly to ignore what's happening:

• Retailers report cancelled toys from FT.
• FT deletes Weibo account.
• Dalianjj hasn't posted on this site in two months.

Something is afoot. Maybe it's nothing important, but people are rightly concerned.

 

I don't tend to buy in on rumors and hearsay, but if this pans out to be true, I'm gonna cry. First GT doesn't/hasn't finished their Defensor.. now FT might not finish their Aerialbots and Stunticons? I just threw up in my mouth. Lol.
