Shattered Glass Uncut just posted an interview with the designer from FansToys and they asked him why he abandoned their MP Blaster. The answer was that it was NOT abandoned, it was coming AFTER they finish the MP Dinobots and Skyfire.

So barring an announcement from Takara, Blaster is coming from FansToys!

 

Fuck yes. Was disappointed it had seemingly been canned....instabuy!!

 

I always thought it was Soundwave they had planned...

 

Forget the Dinobots! This is what we want!  

 

Easy pass, but the FT fanboys must be crying knowing that Skyfire is even further away.

 

They did have a Soundwave planned, and it was abandoned when Takara released theirs. Blaster was ALSO in the works at the time. I think they waited to see if Takara was going to do Blaster next. Takara did not.

 

Cool; so I'm guessing that he'll be late 2015/early 2016 then?

 

Hell yes. Ironically, I found my old G1 blaster cassettes while going through a random box of old junk a few days ago. It was a sign!  

 

Funny thing is if they make it the same height as MP Soundwave, it will be SHORTER than G1 Blaster. Probably the first MP that is smaller than G1.

 

I like this, but i have a feeling Takara will make him and all his cassettes eventually, maybe even next year.

 

Interesting. Takara may already release one by the time they're ready to move forward with this. Hopefully most or all the Tak releases next year are decepticons though.

I would have thought if TT was going to do Blaster it would have followed Soundwave as a heavy remold, though the transformation probably wouldn't have been very G1 accurate. But who knows, they could be working on designs right now. Either way, that FT Blaster looks perfect, only thing I can't believe they will make cassettes for him.

 

two things - i hope they've updated the face sculpt and also the design to the new standards they helped set...i'm guessing it's going to look quite a bit different than those pics which should promise but...lack polish. let us see how far they have come in 2+ years.

 

Cool! I like it.....but the face sculpt seems a little off to me. Maybe it's just me. Can't wait to see more!

 

That was the most disturbing interview I've ever seen. Not a fan of that blaster though, needs a bit of work.

 

Only need Eject and Rewind really as I'd imagine alot already have KFC Ramhorn and Steeljaw if they were remotely interested in them.

 

I need to draw the line on 3rd party vs. wallet and this guy might not make the cut.

 

I'd call them the birds same height, or pretty damned close. G1 had a larger wingspan.
