Finally had a chance to open him up, and put him in my work from home comp table (we are in the process of a move), and i must say, i am really impressed...

He looks extremely sharp, feels great, paint is beautiful, and the arm articulation is more than i was expecting. I can get a nice natural stance out of him. Transformation is nice, he becomes very long, just i had some issues getting the front two halves to close.

I am glad i have XTB version too so i can give my spindrift the bucket and shovel, as i am not too much into guns anymore, expect a few figures. The other cool thing of owning both, i have the big toy eye on my XTB, and the toon eyes for FT, so they will be brother in my collection, which i am happy about.

I must say i am really happy with this purchase

Love the look and feel of this figure... and I don't have to take the morning off to transform him!

(I have a second one MISB for sale at cost: eBay item 274813251037)

Yep, even on the UK side I paid £60 total, so including the adjustment for shipping/import fees afterwards. That was the PO price, but still...

I honestly can’t put into words how much I love this. It’s been in my stack since PO but I just got it this weekend. The original toy was one of my favorite TFs as a kid and Fanstoys (re)designed such an amazing interpretation that captures both the toon and toy.

My Spindrift v2 arrived this morning. I think I prefer everything about Neptune except for the colour. The transformation of Neptune is cleaner, and both modes just look better to me. In alt mode, Spindrift has lots of lines from joints/panels alongside his sides, and ugly 'plusses' on top and holes near the back where the guns can be mounted (a feature I'll never use). Spindrift's transformation was less fun, and the sides don't really close up cleanly enough.

But the colour... Spindrift gets the blue just right. If only Neptune did!

I bought this guy when he came out, but I'd left him waiting to for other stuff to come in that kept getting delayed before I shipped him. The negatives are small, and boil down to the fact that he's got less articulation than Neptune or even Spindrift 1.0. Also, I suppose, he's more expensive than Neptune despite coming with a lot less accessories, and I suppose that Neptune's alt mode looks a bit more realistic with the windows and the little cleats and such.

The positives, though! He's shorter and fatter, which makes him the most cartoon-accurate Seaspray. The lack of color on his torso, either colored bits like Spindrift 1.0 or gray bits and/or windows like Neptune, can come across as a little dull but the cartoon didn't have those details.

His alt mode, while less detailed than XTB's, is longer and narrower, giving him proportions that are closer to the G1 toy's. Indeed, the windowless white section is technically more cartoon and toy accurate, if less realistic. Using a backpack to fill in the blue part with the yellow bars instead of using his actual shins and feet is clever, and I found the overall transformation to be rather simple, which I almost never say about Fans Toys. I personally found it to be more enjoyable than either Neptune or Spindrift 1.0. My only real complaint is the square holes on the sides where you can slot the guns in.

Speaking of gun storage, I know it's been mentioned here but I didn't see it in the instructions, but you don't have to store the guns on the sides or the roof. They fit into cavities on the underside of his feet. I'm sure this was intentional, despite their lack if inclusion in the instructions, because the guns have tabs that serve no other purpose but to fit into slots that likewise serve no other purpose.

All-in-all, a very good figure, one of FT's best. Push comes to shove, I do prefer him to Neptune, but I don't think he's such a huge improvement that you need to upgrade if you're happy with Neptune. If you have any other Seaspray on your shelf, though, like Spindrift 1.0 or ToyWorld's, upgrade now! Spindrift 2.0 is to those guys the same level of upgrade that Kingdom Cyclonus is over Combiner Wars Cyclonus.

Are we all in agreement that this is the most irrelevant FT ever? Retailers can’t seem to get rid of him

I feel so bad for this guy, because I think this is an excellent figure. I honestly think folks who are passing up on him are missing out.
