I'll never understand why companies keep re-releasing figures where credible editions have been made by other 3Ps instead of tackling projects that no one has done. The opportunity is right in front of Fans Toys (or anyone, really) to do the Predacons, the Protectobots, the Aerialbots, the Fembots, Astrotrain, etc.. and instead they're dying to give you their take on Warpath, Beachcomber, Brawn and Menasor. Ugh.

I agree with you, I do not understand why they teased Scourge 2,5 years ago and still nothing.

I guess we will wait for Astrotrain longer than we expected.

Blauw bam zoom didn't see that coming soon. Well it looks great and seeing other g1 s2 bots makes sense, Dalianjj's always said they would make all of them eventually.

The one-piece crotch flap is almost a deal-breaker. He's also too small. BadCube may have a more complex transformation, but the size is better and looks better to me as well. I may still buy this FT one, just to have another Warpath to have fun with. But War Dog will still be the MP representation of Warpath.

I'm not much of an FT fan, but this is how Warpath should look like.

Agree about things like Astrotrain, Aerialbots, Protectobots. But Warpath is one figure that needs a better MP. The Badcube offering was a "fine, there's nothing better out there" option and it's been around for like 3-4 years now. We were overdue for a better MP Warpath to come along.

I expect 300 pages of scale and transformation "discussion" before the figure shows up.

Easy prediction. It's a Fans Toys reveal. It's not showing up for a while.

Point made, but in this case a there was a sizable gap in the MP market for a toon accurate Warpath as one has not been made to date. I feel the same way about Devastator, really, that supersized chugsterpice, Toyworld Devastator is MP in scale only and doesn't quite cut it in my book!

But to answer the question broadly.....some characters sell, that's why we keep on seeing tons and tons of Primes, it's just the way it is!

It's also because different companies have their own aesthetics and take different artistic liberties. Badcube Warpath may be a credible version, but to many he's too chunky, whereas Fans Toys Warpath is going to have a much slimmer profile. As annoying as it is to see five different takes on the same character, I'd rather have options than going with whoever got to it first, cause then everything would feel mismatched.

There's not too much detail there between the burring and added noise:

Warpath really does look good - like a few, I've not been taken with the options prior to now, but this one just looks 'right'.
He gives the appearance of being solid too - hopefully he's given a decent finish, rather than plain plastic, to keep that.

warpath and brawn have both been screaming out for better mp versions than badcubes which i never bought because i think they both look shit ... i'll never understand why people buy anything no matter how it looks and go oooh that will do its cartoon accurate or accurate to the character enough to be my mp ...when it's not that good really

Pretty sure this is a must buy. Assuming they release next year. I’d love to get this and have Walmart do a G1 release as well

Aesthetics and artistic liberties that most don't care for hence the need for a more accurate one.

    True indeed!
