Or maybe the designers could be suing them for some sort of breach of contract? Could the delay be the equivalent of a cease and desist order? That would explain why they're still releasing other figures and might even explain DalianJJ's radio silence. Maybe he didn't want any of his responses to combiner-related questions to be on public record? Meh who knows, just spitballin' here...

The other factor is that the central skeleton should be able to have a shoulder joint that is as strong as it needs to be - it doesn't need to tuck away into a limb bot. The only consideration would be whether it needs to transform for some reason. Weight should never have been the issue.
But certainly interesting to see the hard evidence. I had heard people talking about how heavy the figures were and I had assumed there was something to what they were saying.

I'm frustrated that I don't get to see the first example of a guy putting combined mode on top of a detolf and having it crash through a desk or into the basement or something. It's gonna have a bigger splash radius than Dr Egg. What about MY needs!?

That’s actually not a bad theory and would make sense. Whatever the issue is, I just wish there wasn’t pure silence. That’s the most frustrating part. Each week that goes by, I’m finding myself losing more interest in these and looking at other options of who I might go with. Don’t get me wrong, these look great! And I WANT to finish them ... but I also want to be alive long enough to enjoy them when they are all together haha.

Excluding the obvious combiners and city-sized bots, of course.

 

Dx9 won the Menasor wars and they went out of business.

Xtransbots lost and charged extra.

Fans Toys lost and didn’t even bother to cross the finish line.

 

I once weighed Stomp and he was over 1 kg. Grinder too, if i remember correctly.

 

I did some random weighing of the larger figures in my collection and most were well below one kilo, with a few exceptions.

I think you should become the official Masterpiece scale "weigher".
However, that means you would have to buy every Masterpiece scale release from all companies, so that nobody is left out.
You'd do that for the community, right?

 

Hmm, 'The Weigher' is not as fancy or evocative a title as 'The Fallen', but I will take it.

As far as -every- Masterpiece release, that might be pushing it, but perhaps we can lowball it to like 70% of all Masterpiece releases? Does that work for you?

When I went all in on FT my biggest fear was that they wouldn’t complete the set. Watching the reviews of XTB’s and DX9’s finished combiners both made that feeling worse but at the same time made me feel like the FT wait would be well worth it. This was about a year ago. I’m seriously considering selling off my set so far. Kinda not feeling it anymore.

 

It just boggles my mind that they'd choose to hold off finishing the bots instead of just the combining parts.

Would it absolutely frustrate buyers to have a full combiner team they still have to wait to combine? Of course. But it remains even worse to delay finishing the team.

And obviously this has been said a million times already. I just can't grasp the logic of letting it go this way for this long.

Unless FT finally finishes the first two sets and publishes a VERY compelling reason for the delays, there's no way I'd buy into another FT combiner set before every bot is available.

So FT's mishandling of this has now essentially convinced me to hold off on buying... what? 30-40 potential figures?

 

Yes.

Obviously the original plan remains untenable for FT's private reasons, so it should be changed.

They should lower the price of the final member and sell it separately. I'd personally much rather eat the cost of 2x shipping and finish the team then wait indefinitely.

I imagine XTB buyers would feel the same if they were still waiting for the set to finish right now.

I'm now guessing FT won't do this because they think there's a significant number of buyers who would skip the combiner pieces altogether, and save some $. Real shame if that's the only reason these teams continue to be delayed.
