If I was FT, this is what I would do:

Separate Dead End and the trailer, but announce both at the same time to alleviate any fears of a repeat of the XTB trailer delay.

Charge the same for Dead End as the previous carbots.

Offer the trailer/combiner parts at as low a price as possible.

This would all add a nail to the XTB coffin, and position FT company that is fair and not just trying to charge as much as possible.

You can't do that (and won't) knowing what your brand gets away with though. They are now the Apple of 3P.

Agreed agreed agreed. Amazing idea and I hope they go this route.

Especially with the FT set, I think a lot of us will display them in bot or alternate mode. I can’t see the majority going Menasor. Each part is expensive and looks great in it own right. Have the option for those that want Menasor to get a separate Trailer/Menasor parts.

I paid the late tax for sure. Still need to find smokey. Hopefully someone here wants to get rid of it.

Also, I figure if I want out, I won't lose much

You could probably get Smokey from a retailer when its released since people cancel their orders

And finally, poach designer 539 from them. FT builds with 539 sculpts would be dominant. (Transformations still a wash for both companies though)

Still, wouldn't it be better if they lower their prices to pre covid times. This price jump just makes me say: alright I finish this set and then I'm quitting FT.

I hope they don't just focus on the super rich, as John Hammond would say.

Seeing as their stuff sells out in hours there’s no reason to drop their prices. If it sits on shelves not selling then yes.

everyone needs to make a value call: are these toys worth the amount of money spent?

I just need a PO for Blitzwing. The rest are purely optional. But if Blitzwing also turns out to be prohibitively expensive, I am okay without one as well.

I mean I have enough toys to last me a lifetime.

The fact that you can sell at high prices, doesn't mean you should. Their is more to business than making profit.

Whilst the XTB figures are good in the main, I find some of their figures to be inelegant and counter-intuitive, transformation-wise. Sometimes I feel that 539 makes things more complicated than they need to be (e.g. all those sliding rails in Dead End’s back and arms).

Some of FTs transformations can be complex, yes, but there’s generally a fluidity to them, not to mention those few “wow!” moments that you get when they accomplish particular feats of ingenuity.

Agree on XTB transformations. Crackup was the most elegant of the 3 car Stunticons I had; Flipout and Deathwish had parts where it screamed "worked on CAD, did not account for real life physics".

However, I do find FT transformations about as inelegant in some cases. Spoiler's entire upper torso clearances for transformation and Iceman are too fairly egregious examples, IMO.

Seeing that XTB's trailer got me wondering what FT's trailer, plus the last limb going to cost, the whole "price of Road King" thing seems to be out of the question now. I'm thinking at least $300, probably even $350

I hope they dont try to do a stupid base mode, no one wants that. No one lol.
