Just got Magnum today. Tried working the knees right out of the box. His right knee slides up, but stops about halfway there, while his left doesn't move up at all. Any tips to get past this?

Fair enough. I guess I've bought enough Fans Toys figures that I've been less-than-impressed with that I'm unwilling to give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's possible, sure, but it's also Fans Toys we're talking about here. I could see the last four limbs being lighter than the first six bots, but not by a ton and almost certainly heavier than similar-sized figures from other companies, even ones that don't combine. Even if the arms are significantly lighter we know the torso bots are pretty heavy, and that alone can cause issues if the knees, hips, and ankles joints aren't tight enough or have too much play between ratchet teeth.

But then again, I'm not buying either set for the combined modes. Zeta's set has pretty crappy robots, but their Superion is just fine. Likewise, DX9's got me covered for a toon Menasor; if I even bother to combine Fans Toys I'm using the OX parts. I bought into FT's guys for the 'bot modes, and I'm extremely pleased with how their Stunticons are coming along. As for the Aerialbots, they'll do until someone else takes a crack at them, and then since they're Fans Toys I should be able to get back at least what I spent.

 

Seeing Breakdown in car mode makes me want to transform him for the first time to get a logo on the hood. Now where's my spudger at?

 

Has anyone yet successfully painted the inside of Magnum's mouth?

I hate the way FT has been leaving the inside of the "yelling" faces unpainted. And now Magnum has some sculpted in teeth... which is a weird choice. What color are those supposed to be? I'm wondering what would look good, and wondering if anyone has tried anything.

I tried just painting the inside of his mouth black and it looks fine. But at certain angles I can still see the line of the sculpted "teeth", making it look like Magnum has bad dental hygiene.

Totally agree, only time will tell the true tale, of course.

I'm personally only getting one set as a whole, to cover every field. While their transformations are grizzly grizzly bears to deal with, FT's gonna be my Stunticon and Aerialbot sets. The latter is a tad bit variable, should someone else sweep them off their feet sooner or later. Same reason is why I got MMC's Combaticons, I personally think they look the best, and since I can stand behind MMC for their durability and playability, that's a bit of an extra for me, haha.

Wildrider looks like he just got served the worst dish in history, love it!

Not sure how to split a dry rub so just used a sticker. I reckon I would like the dry rub better. This transformation is not so bad, but not Wildrider good.

 

Where in Canada are you located? Ages 3 and up have them instore.

Decided to sell off my Xtransbots Stunticons since I've picked up all the Fans Toys Stunticons released so far. I had to do this pic before I boxed up Gravestone though!
