I get your point. As far as symmetry is considered I guess I should have been more specific. I prefer the distribution of the color better with the lower legs and the arms having the same color mixed in underneath the cars on the arms themselves. This breaks up the monochromatic colors of the arms. Giving better balance to the overall figure. From an artistic standpoint I feel this would be the more ascetically pleasing to look at. To each their own though.

Total long shot, but to me it looks like the legs each have different patterns which A.S has coloured in, so do we think there may be a colour match to the original toy line (i.e mimicing the underside of breakdown and wildrider) instead of just grey?

The underside of his left leg on attachment (deadend in this instance - should be wildrider) has a sticking out part which matches the render A.S linked to add weight to the argument.

 

...oh THAT is an interesting observation. The digibash I started with was based on the cartoon version however, which would have been all gray on the legs. Somewhat to your point, however, we will most certainly see some interesting nods to the toy when using the OX configuration:




I want to point out, it seems Magnum, in this configuration, will sort of be a flipped-around version of what the G1 toy looks like. Curious, if they are just pegging him to the leg, if this wasn't an oversight, a limitation of the design, or perhaps we'll see something different in the final product - I AM curious.... because in doing this I noticed there is what appears to be an add-on panel to at least one of the legs to accommodate Magnum in his car mode.... that panel might either be the same gray as the legs, or perhaps colored in some way to match the vehicle..... but it might be possible that panel will be reversed in the final product to correct the visual dissonance. Lastly, it's hard to imagine they'd go this far, but to be accurate to the toy they would have to change the thigh color as well..... But I feel that might be a bit much, and not something I'm going to lose sleep over.

Edit: oh! My mind is twisting a little here on this, but I realize that Magnum holds tru to his head-to-car-nose orientation, but Spoiler does not. In fact, his legs and head are in reverse orientation. While that makes Magnum’s combined mode appear flipped compared against Spoiler, it COULD be because the car orientations still match. So even if they somehow flipped both cars nose up, the patterns/colors are still wrong because Spoiler is made upside down...

Devy is confirmed eventually. I suspect we will see something by 2022 on him. @dailianjj has already stated that they are doing all G1 combiners.

Man OX is how the character should have looked from day one. Menasor is probably my biggest pet peeve from the cartoon. 2 out of the 5 stunticons are barely a part of the combined form.

 

I agree with you actually. Full colour first, hybrid next.

 

I like the cartoon version.
I hope he has his special powers under his arms.

 

Presumably you can have any sort of combination of aesthetics you want - I can imagine using Toon chest and head with OX collar and leg formation, for example.
