FT is much cheaper. Just compare Motormaster and Prime. Without Jeff Bezos help, it's 3 times as expensive.

MP-44 is a true billionaire's toy, it literally takes a billionaire to make the thing ..... somewhat affordable.

MP44 is like the price of TW Constructor. So 6 large Masterpiece scale figures, 1 Giant ass figure or a standard sized Prime.

No question about that. Takara is going downhill fast. I refuse to buy their figures anymore.

 

MP-44 is probably the first MP figure to be taken off Amazon JP in record time. If anything, it probably helped reduce income inequality a bit i.e. all those 200+ dollars return fees probably dented Amazon JP's income.

I had to fix 44's knees right out of the box (I thought it wouldn't bug me but it did), and the hips were loose. Even if I think it's handsome I didn't enjoy posing it as much my Zeta Oriprime! The ab-crunch mechanism wasn't my favourite, floppy. Too precious for my tastes so I offloaded it as quickly as I could, though stupidly chucked the box and lost a bit of money.

I'd rather mess with Roadking.

 

You know what fucking blows? All these combiners have huge ass torso bots when they don't even form the torso. They just plug in somewhere on the combiner shell, zero innovations needed. So why the fuck are all these torso bots the size of dinobots? Especially when they don't even need to be.

 

You know, I'm inclined to agree with this based on TT's track record from MP-44 onwards but too many times have I doubted TT when they had their backs against the wall only for them to come out swinging and prove me wrong and have me like putty in their hands again, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Let's not forget FT was in a very similar place some 8 months ago for two years ago before they turned the corner and released the now legendary Road King. So let's not start writing TT's obituaries yet.

But boy time is running out for them....I'm absolutely at a point where I almost don't give a shit about what TT is making anymore! I don't go into the speculation threads. I don't even go into the Arcee thread because I simply don't give a shit about the figure with its strange 'granny boobs' and 'over-sexualized' design choices?? Hell, as bad as near XTB shampoo plastic Hound was I kept it because I simply refused to pump more money into that lost cause by returning it. He just sits on my shelf and will not be touched....a glaring reminder, a symbol of how low TT has fallen! I was thinking the other day, let's just say Hound was problem free, could anyone put this figure next to Inferno, MP-33 and say he's worth it? Opinions be damned, he fucking isn't it? Apart Hound being one of the Ark crew he is destroyed by MP-33 in every possible way. Price, quality, articulation, accessories, durability and transformation (that fucking ladder, wow!)....and yet TT charged more for him. MEH! Their figures are no longer instant pre-orders anymore!

TT is in a dark place right now but I hope they can get their act together because time is running out!

I agree, there’s peaks and valleys, Sunstreaker and Megatron are incredible, but that first Megatron was a disaster. Mine started rusting almost immediately.

Either way, they need to get the quality under control or it won’t matter how nice they are.

TT needs to stick to the cheaper mass-market retail lines like Hasbro is doing with Seige and Earth Rising. TT doesn’t want to spend the money on good designs, engineering, assembly, materials, and quality control anymore. Stick to selling their junk on the big box store shelves it was made for...

 

 

And yet they still ask a premium and people actually buy it...
