Oh, I didn’t know :) . I thought only one of the other companies were going down that road, but maybe I got confused.

The question now is what will the combiner parts for your other big endeavor turn into? Another plane?

Roadking's alt mode looks close to this one. Too bad the limb bots are not that accurate to their real counter parts.

I was very impressed with it, that's why I bought him as a stand alone figure, but if the combiner frame transform too, then I have to give the whole set a chance.

Did some minor mods on my Spoiler:

    1. LOOSE KIBBLE ON THE BACK OF THE SHOULDERS: The problem here is that rotating the fender bits for transformation turns the screw and loosens them no matter how many times you tighten the screw. This is the same problem FT Willis/Hound had in his ankles, and I think the same fix should work: Take the pieces off, put a tiny bit of superglue in the screw hole, then screw it back together. Now the fender piece should rotate while the screw stays in place. --- I performed this fix and it seems to be working. Repeated transformations will show whether it's really going to stay tight permanently.

    2. BACK OF SHOULDER INTERFERES WITH OUTWARD SHOULDER ARTICULATION AT SOME ANGLES: (see photo). Just shaved away a bit of plastic from the rear side of the shoulder. Not really noticeable in bot mode, but does make it less annoying to get the outward shoulder articulation as far as I sometimes want it to go.

    3. POST ON WHICH SHOULDERS ARE MOUNTED INTERFERE WITH ARTICULATION AT SOME ANGLES: IMO this was a minor design flaw: The shoulder is mounted on a square post, so the corners of the square block forward rotation when the shoulder is also outwardly articulated at some angles. Just had to shave away a bit of plastic.

Now the arm & shoulder posing experience is a bit more smooth.

    4. BOOO NO FIX FOR THE STUPID THIGHS: My biggest gripe about the figure is those stupid thighs. Every time I'm posing the figure the limited outward hip articulation bugs me. This was totally preventable: the thighs are molded as if FT intentionally wanted the thighs to collide with the screws, limiting articulation and screwing up paint. If FT would sell me remolded thighs with that stupid flap removed I would pay for it. They're diecast so I can't just shave them down.

Your pic of the tandem trailer truck alluded to it, but it was never actually confirmed so we we're left speculating and very hopeful that it was in fact a reality.

    So Mr. J, thank you.

It’s the FT rep, I’m sure there’s no doubt about this being true.

This looks good. In its own way as good as Spoiler. Lots of non-flat stuff yet still G1 cartoon vibe. Translucent part in the right places, nice colour choices. Ver nice head/face sculpt and the head is right between the wheels unlike XTB's version. Too bad about the wheels though, but the focus is bot mode. Yet FT's Roadking, from the picture they posted very early on off a truck with two trailers, looks strikingly similar to it.

    Nice job, yet again, FT!
