The Dinobots were the rival to the Constructicons Megatron built on Earth, Omega Supreme was the rival to the Constructicons Megatron mind controlled on Cybertron. I'm not sure who the rival was for the Constructicons that made Megatron.

Whether it was Constructicons or Insecticons first depends on the source. In the cartoon the Insecticons appeared in episode 15 and the Constructicons in episode 16. That is probably based on the episode production codes, and it is how the episodes are listed on the DVDs I've seen as well. That said Heavy Metal War actually ended up airing before Plague of the Insecticons for some reason, though that only really applied if you happened to be watching episodes as they aired in 1984. Also worth noting Heavy Metal War seemed to end as a Season finale with all of the Decepticons sinking into the lava.

On the other hand in the Marvel comic the Constructicons first appeared in issue 10 with the Insecticons showing up in issue 17.

So, the only Transformers I really care that much about are G1 cartoons. And I re-watch the series with regularity, looking for scenes I want to eventually diorama. I knew there was an inconsistency between the "I built these" and the "these were OS friends back in the Cybertronian day," including the whole lot going into lava, but I never bothered to learn how the fandom/Marvel/whoever reconciled all this.

So take my TF card, I suppose. I'll head over to the wiki and do some learning.

Calling it how the fandom reconciled it is giving it to much credit, I literally thought of it just before I typed it. I believe the reconciliation is more along the lines of what happened with the Combaticons in Starscream's Brigade. Their personality components were brought to Earth and new bodies built or something like that.

"Don't Watch That. Watch this!". I blame the DJ Spinna "Watch Deez" track with Thirstin Howl III and Eminem for ingraining the intro to "One Step Beyond" in my mind. Interesting time capsule post, thanks for sharing it.

By the time Bandit + frame get released, I’ll probably have enough loyalty points at my retailer of choice to get them for free.

I think 2024 will be THE YEAR team - for both Bandit & Jester. Sure - no one's forcing ShowZ and BBB to post all these preorders. But I think its a telling sign that things are nearly finished. Or to put it another way, they've figured out how to do the skeleton at last. I believe the figures of Bandit, Viper & Jester have been done for some time. So I just think that at some point during the next year we'll finally get some closure. Just my 2 cents worth.

If we are getting these guys in 2024 when do you think we will actually see some color pics of these? September?

Seems to be when ft shows the most.
And the well of released characters is becoming dry rapidly!

Right now every figure FT has shown in color is scheduled (pending real life interference or not) to be released by November of this year. After those figures FT currently has 7 remaining figures they have shown anything more than a silhouette for. They are Blitzwing, Dead End, Slingshot, Fireflight, Fortress Maximus, Chromedome and Ultra Magnus. July and October of this year both have TFCons scheduled and FT participates in the 3rd Party Panel almost every time. They will have to show new figures in color for release next year as well as start announcing new figures between those 2 panels. Hard to be sure what order they will do things in though.

I still think we might get a Magnus preorder for dec-jan release. Seems there's no big bots this year except scourge (and he seems a bit made to order on the preorder front according to omega lock.)

IMO, all of FT’s stuff should be made to order, with a PO window that has a definitive closing date and required deposit. That way, nobody misses out when they go up for order and sell out in 30 seconds. Some people gotta work, sleep, etc. Would throw a wrench into the works for scalpers, too. But maybe this sounds too much like crowdfunding…

It kind of already is being crowdfunded with Show.Z Store (and who knows if others do the same) taking deposits to give to the factory.

There’s still nothing in for December so maybe Scourge will tie up the year? I kind of doubt it because FT will likely work through until CNY later in January. So something will / might happen in Dec and or Jan. I’d love Margh as @DPrime83 says. I can feel that childish buzz about all FTs offerings this year but Scourge and Magnus are peaking it.
Of the 7 I’m not including Fort Max because it’s well beyond my price range, space for displaying and sanity to actually own lol
So 2024 looks to be the year we’ll get the other 5… so, with a bit of luck they will prioritise the combiner limbs and then Blitzwing and Chromedome.

I can’t wait to even see the finished Menasor, let alone get my grubby mitts on it!

It is theoretically possible that FT does few or even none of those 7 remaining announced figures (I don't expect none, just it is possible), but that would require one of 2 possible outcomes, either FT slows down on new releases next year (no sign of that yet, and little precedent even during Covid) or they would have quick turnaround of figures announced this year releasing next year. Those are the only two ways they could go if they don't rely on those 7 remaining figures.

I doubt this is the case, do you have a confirmed source for this?

I think they just use the money for growing their own business on the short term.

If Fanstoys should somehow not deliver, i doubt they're giving the money they used for design back to showz, while showz has to refund to their customers

If Fanstoys needs this money to keep the design process going, it would indicate that they don't have the means to do it themselves, putting them on thin ice to stay in business...

    Just my perception

Yeah. FT and retailers will be predicting us just as much as buyers predicting them. Retailers and FT will have an idea of cancellation percentages etc… my take on Scourge is that because XTB fairly recently flooded the market FT just want to be conservative with their numbers. I also wonder if more of it is to do with the retail side of things as well… just wanting to be safe due to the fact people might order three (multiples) in multiple places. That’s going to be a lot of dropped POs and a misconception of legitimate orders.
Retailers will then get stuck with excess and will have to store them as warehouse finds for 2033.
Not sure there’s much in it to decipher really.

I dig that. Maybe some new minibot reveals that are further along than we know. Maybe they have something / somethings closer to their chest than usual for a surprise reveal… I think they do have to prioritise the ones I mention though. I’m a patient guy but even I’m getting anxious to finish these combiners and Blitzwing. They’re walking a thin line of pissing people off if they weren’t already… but again… I’m patient (much to my own detriment sometimes) so I’ll take whatever they decide to release and when. Having said that… Bandit in Q1 24 would be ideal!
