I have the original release and would love to get this more accurate one for the collection. Anyone interested in the original would get rid of it for $160 shipped. No box though. Figure has no scratches, and never has been transformed.

I bought my copy in early June from TCP and they still had several copies for sale for weeks afterwards. You can even scroll back a few pages in this thread and see other people talking about having just purchased one.

 

The argument is in the fact thats its our nostalgia that has us spend 100 plus on plastic and diecast toys and that nostalgia is based on watching the vhs for most of us. I seriously doubt most grown ups who are addicted to this plastic crack fell in love with it when the restorations were released.

As far as I was concerned, Galvatron was closer to blue than purple in the movie, changed colours a few times in s3, mostly leaning more towards purple.

The restored dvd was a shock to me, although he appears more blue again on the 30th ann bluray, which is weird. So that being my experience, and others, theres totally room for different interpretations.

I quite like the bluer Cyclonus. He still looks more purple next to my custom painted blue Sovereign. My thinking is I'll grab this, and whichever I like best out of the two will get the pink parts, assuming they can all be taken apart.

If they do a blue Sovereign I'll be over the moon... but gutted it took so long as it could have saved me a lot of time and paint!

The new accurate color as shown on FT-19 is blurple . Debate settled. Lol.

It must be coming. And I think I’d buy that. Already have Sovereign but I love galvatron so I’d prob have a transformed cannon and than a bot mode.

 

I just found out about the thing like a week ago, and it was sold out everywhere I tried (ShowZ, OhMyPrimus, TFSource, RobotKingdom, BBTS, ChosenPrime) except for ebay markups, so I'm quite happy about this repaint.

 

That was timely, I was just about to buy Quietus but couldn't find him in stock anywhere. Don't really have a strong preference between the colors on the two versions. Just glad he might be available.

 

So they don't repaint Galvatron into it's comic colors or their Skyfire into Jetfire colors, which could get people to even double dip on the molds, to instead do a hue change that everybody had already forgotten and moved on from? K....

 

TBH you really can't go wrong with either IMO. Both look good. I have the OG and am happy with just that.

 

I fail to even see what point you're even trying to make here, as you're now arguing even against yourself.

In case you're still confused and/or calendrically challenged, mid-June was three weeks ago. We are in July now.
