Has anyone digibashed Outrider w/ the MPs paint job?

just curious how that would look. They sure are different.

 

Question: not sure if I missed it but did anyone ever confirm what the squares on the chest were? I assume they're screw caps.

I'm still so torn on which Trailbreaker to get. Everyone and their mother has made one and I feel like they all have some (potentially major) flaws.

I wish I could afford to just buy ALL the Trailbreakers (except BadCube) and see which one I prefer, but that's not really practical, and the second-hand market here sucks for on-selling...

EDIT: Also, does anyone have that image with all the Trailbreakers (maybe an updated one, now that MP-56 is out) please?

 

The squares on outrider and hitch hoods are nods to the G1 toys.

 

how so? the vintage figure do not have anything like that.

they are rivit/screw covers for the joint that swivels the front wheels

I did too, though honestly, they weren't great photos. I meant the line-up of ALL the Trailbreakers though, like what was done with Springer. For some reason, I only saved the Springer one.

Also, I'd rather avoid official threads. They're absolute cancer. "Guys, the shoulders don't work properly and you have to mod the thing out of the box, but it's okay, 11/10, Takara can have my first-born too."
The cope makes hardcore FansToys fanboys look like the most sane people on the planet (and I'm thinking of those REALLY hardcore ones, like that crazy Facebook group).
This thread feels kind of like a safe haven from some of those people in the MP-56 thread.  

Guess I'll just wait for more videos. I did find this one video, which I thought was actually quite good, in case anyone is interested. There were a few things he missed (FansToys ankles, XTB tightness for trying to attach weapons, XTB shoulder and hand change between versions), but otherwise, it seems like a pretty good summary of the four moulds before Takara's:

Hence why Outrider is going with the MP-36/44 styled and the TT is going with the MP-9/10 hybrids. Funny enough, all of my other 3p go with the MP-9/10 guys.

 

This one looks so much better than Takara's.

 

I love Takara but their TB looks like total shit. Was waiting on it to get released to make the decision. Pretty easy now.

 

What baffles me the most about Takara's is, barring anything else, they have a series of joints for the doors, and they chose to make them fold around so that the windows are on the outside. At least his giant gut wouldn't have looked as bad if he didn't have blue sides.

They who? Takara, or their fanboys who use images which aren't even consistent as to whether or not he has a Jay Leno chin?

I like things about it, but I can’t understand how no one is bothered by the proportions of MP56.
He’s got this tiny little waist. Long lanky limbs. And that just does not work with the hood torso. Am I the only one seeing this? And then there is the face sculpt. Yeah good night.

 

I think that's what annoys me the most: he's not outright horrible, but he has a lot wrong with him, and at least some of those issues (shoulder articulation, gut windows) would have been easy fixes. At least a bad figure can be laughed at and then forgot about. This... not so much.

Whereas I think Outrider certainly has issues (the chest definitely sticks out a bit too far, the ankles aren't great, the articulation is inarguably worse than MP-56 - although apparently nobody cares about being able to swing the legs back on a figure any more), and I really am not a fan of his vehicle mode, but at least he's well-proportioned. Actually, I thought the XTB Trailbreaker was well-proportioned and was going to just get him until I saw him next to Outrider. Outrider may not have the cartoon proportions (debatable) but his proportions are definitely nicer.

 

What I dont understand is all the love MP Trailbreaker is getting?? I saw he had been released and was curious about the final product so I checked a review on youtube. Man what?? When I saw the gaps in the flanks in bot mode my jaw kind of dropped. I almost lost my sh#t when I saw the gap directly behind the windshield and I don't even own the figure! But the reviewer loved it. He even said the flank gaps didn't really bother him much. I went to the comments section for a voice of reason and the majority of peeps there like the figure. Same thing in the tfw official thread - they love MP Trailbreaker. I thought I was losing my mind for a good 10 minutes because I was alone in thinking that MP Trailbreaker isnt very good. The figure has a beer belly. The kibble that sticks out of the bottom of the truck in alt mode by the back tires is off putting. Even though I never had any plans to get him it's kind of disappointing to realize that this was the best Takara could come up with. Don't they check what their competitors are producing? Outrider is one of my favorite figures of 2022. I wasn't even going to get him because I was content with Aegis (who also looks better than the official IMO) but then my FOMO got the better of me. I'm glad it did.

 

Good lord, so this is the most I've actually taken a look at the Takara MP...that thing looks like garbage...
