30+ years on and he's still one of my favourite figures....magnificent. Very articulated, nice transformation and alt-mode. G1 Scattorshot. Here's hoping for an FT Computron.

And on to Arcee. Now let me start off by saying I don't have FT Rouge or MP-51 so I clearly have no horse in this race. But boy that MP-51...it looks marginally better than it did in the pics but it still looks like a steaming pile of shit, wow! All the glaring issues that were in the promo pics are still present and still glaring. Granny boobs, effed up face, oversexualization, a ginormous backpack that makes MP-45's seem somewhat respectable...if that's even remotely possible! And last but not least it can barely stand! It's the second official G1 MP figure that I don't own....seen the in hand images and there isn't an iota FOMO. It looks like a calamitous trainwreck of epic proportions and encapsulates the expression that TT could literally shit in a box and people would still buy it.

Yeah I'm getting some serious "Emperor's new clothes" vibes from the way people are gushing over pictures of such a malformed-looking figure.

 

No offense to the user who preferred MP Arcee to Rouge and posted that side-by-side a page or so back - you like what you like - but it just exacerbate‘s the differences so much more (am I using that word correctly?).

The “retired mom” comments were right on the money too. She just looks so absolutely horrendous that I just don’t even know.

so one of my Rouges came with a broken hinge and other details like half of her head has bad paint, chips in her left thigh etc, and I don't want to see her suffering another year, FT customer service leads to nowhere so if you have a broken Rouge or a Rouge in bad conditions, loose without accessories etc etc, I'm interested, send me a message please

 

I think if you're into the FansToys season 3 line up, it's kind of hard to swap out Rouge. MP Arcee is not going to look like a good match with FansToys Springer for starters. That and Rouge is in better bot size scale with FT Kup, FT Blurr and FT Hot Rod. They just all look like they came from the same product line because unsurprisingly they do.

I get what they're doing with MP Arcee. It's going full toon like most official MPs nowadays, but with more of an anime twist than usual. Which is probably a good strategy for selling an MP Arcee to the masses, especially in Japan, but like I said it doesn't match up well with the existing season 3 FansToys aesthetic. Although I do get those who will go with an alternative over the FansToys just because they don't enjoy playing with and especially transforming FansToys products. I'm in a real love/hate relationship with FansToys myself.

 

That's not exactly how I'd describe it...its proportions aren't anything like the toon, its face isn't anything like the toon, its overly wide and smooth curves aren't anything like the toon, it's huge backpack isn't anything like the toon...

Say what you will about the transformation, but this is the most toon accurate Arcee available right now, by a considerable margin:








As far as Arcee with an anime twist goes...that would better describe Nicee, if anything. But this...




This is Arcee with maybe a Rob Liefeld twist. Can't see how anyone's getting anything "toon" or "anime" out of this.

 

"Anime-styled" as in, actual anime character design and proportions. Not "anime/'toon accurate".

Rob Liefield proportions those ain't. For that to be true, her waist could only be as wide as her neck, her legs would be twice as long, and her feet would vanish into points or magically forever out-of-frame.

 

MP-51 carries the American spirit. "Fake it till you make it"

 

What anime characters have proportions like MP-51, though? I mean we actually do have an Arcee that is straight up designed to look like an anime woman, and it doesn't look anything like MP-51. Maybe the wide hips are what you're talking about? But I wouldn't call wide hips a signature attribute of anime women.

The point is, she's way off model. Like literally every part of her body is off model except her shins and arms.
