I was playing with mine over the weekend. I'd say the only real drawback is the limited shoulder articulation. He's still a great looking bot and I think they got about as much into the wolf mode as you possibly could. The poses you can pull off with that neck have always impressed me.

 

Try reaching out to Sarah Zhang. She is a trusted TF seller on Facebook. I remember a customer asking her about FT-18 Lupus a few days ago and she said she still had some left. Perhaps she still does. I can't remember the price but I don't think it was anything outrageous.

I was transforming him last night and realized that the flaps near his feet articulate.

Does anyone know why? Is this like the movable crotch piece on Mindwipe? Will FT put a movable piece with no apparent purpose on each of its headmasters?

That's because Lupus has become hard to find. It's just about dried up. I would say check for NA retailers but they're all sold out.
Your only option from a reliable retailer is Uncle Billy. I wouldn't wait too long though.

Looks good. I'm not a fan of stickers, but it shows how much nicer FT could have done the paint apps on this figure to really look premium.
Lupus seems like they tested the waters for headmasters and didn't want to risk too much budget, so the articulation and paint apps are a bit less than we've come to expect from FT.

The announcement of FT Dracula and Chomp generated renewed interest in Lupus. Prior to that it was readily available and could be found on Ebay from reliable sellers like baba and netclow for as low as $105-$110 shipped. Now it's a different story.

Why such the long wait before deciding to pick this up?

 

Finally nabbed one of these. I got lucky enough to get him on a 15% off Ebay sale, so it didn't absolutely kill me. Still, it was an expensive bot. He seems great, though. I do really like a toy that can transform easily,so I gt that real toy feel, and this isn't far off. That floppy red canopy is a problem, though. Wish they had produced some kind of fix for that. Otherwise, at least I've got another of the needed headmasters in hand!
