PURPLE was the reason why I wouldn't touch this set for a long time. Changed my mind recently.

It would do well if reissued in blue, IMO, except the purple set is still available after two years, so... crowdfund?  

Reflector is the Minions of G1 Decepticons. Get all 3 sets!  

It is strange to me that 3P companies like to swap blue/purple... What is blue becomes purple. What is purple becomes blue.

I wonder if the KFC Opticlones set reissue has given FT any ideas about a Spotter reissue.

Thinking about selling my Fanstoys Spotter. It’s MIB and has never been transformed, basically brand new with the only exception being the seals on the box are opened. Never even removed from the box, just never got around to putting them on my shelf and they’ve just been chilling in storage. If anyone is interested, PM me.

I am looking at the few on ebay right now and I wonder if I should wait till one minus the box pops up. I toss the packaging all the time. He is pretty hard to get now under $350-400. It looks like a recent surge in pricing. I will have to ponder this one today since they have the bucks program up. Tempting for sure.

I am just too thrilled with the new engineering / paint / die cast use they are doing, i cant go back to OLD designs at this point, and since this is the only old i didnt get that i regretted.

 

The question is will they. Does not look promising IMHO, but anything is possible.

 

I am ok either way at this point, maybe cause i cant keep up with the new mold FT's releases anyways at this point.

 

I don't see the need for a v2. I think Spotter is about as perfect as Reflector will get in Masterpiece. My smallest complaint is the camera mode isn't G1 cartoon perfect, but I'll never display him that way. The robots modes are perfect.

 

What do your prefer more about KFC OpitClones over MT Reflector? I have the MT set, but have never seen FT or KFC versions.

 

I have both the MT and FT sets, and I actually prefer the MT sets. The FT one doesn't look right to me somehow, possibly the proportions.

 

It obviously depends on your personal preference, but the Maketoys set can be purchased from their online store for $96 shipped to the US. Just something to consider if Reflector, as a character, isn't that big of a deal to you. I purchased Spotter when it came out, eventually grew bored of it, and swapped it out for the Visualizers. No regrets. Both sets are nice in their own ways. I can't speak to their respective transformations and camera modes as I only display in bot mode, so do take my opinion with that in consideration. The KFC Opticlones also look like a fun set, but having never owned them, I can't offer any insight beyond what I've seen and read on here.

 

The transformation is also much cleverer on the MT set.

 

I messaged dalianjj about the time FT-16M was announced to see if there was any chance of a spotter reissue, particularly a Toy version and he told me there was no plans.

Sad as I think toy colors on spotter would look really sharp.
