not sure they would ever do one but you might get a cesium

 

This was way before my time.. what actually is the difference between the two?

 

DalianJJ's spoken some time ago that if they reissued a Slag, it would be Scoria and not Cesium.

I think would have preferred the latter too.

Still holding on to the soar and stomp reissues, plus the grinder I bought years ago, but the prices on the remaining two are just mental. Plus I've heard about qc problems with scoria, disintegrating plastic, green chrome and all sorts of crap. I'd love to have FT for bot mode and giga for dino mode, but dem prices, man....

 

Cesium is taller and

cesium is a little taller and to me looks better overall. The “neck gap” on scoria from the side in Dino mode always bothered me, so I upgraded when I had a chance. The tail section was better on scoria though.

 

I'd prefer Cesium, but I barely care at this point as long as they reissue one of them soon. I want the rest of the Dinobots ASAP.

 

I'd prefer just doing a 2.0 at this point for all of them. They're pretty dated looking and could use some cleaning up

 

Considering the price of the recent reissues, a V2 set would probably cost me most of my organs to afford.

I picked up both Soar and Stomp for $159.99 last month.

 

Three down now hunting for Sever and Scoria or on the watch for a reissue or v2.

 

If you're going for more cartoon accurate, Cesium is the way to go.... if you can find him. I'm honestly not sure how hard he is to hunt down these days, haven't looked in a long while, but I imagine he's not an easy find.

 

I had both Cesium and Scoria. Cesium just didn't look right next to the other Dinos in root mode. It kept bothering me every time I looked at them.

Cesium is better built, but his height and proportions don't work for me when displayed next to his brethren.

 

I thought the whole point of Cesium was to make a figure with proportions that better match the other Dinobots?

 

Then they failed.

Cesium has more of a tall and skinny aesthetic (which matches Swoop), that does not look right next to Grimlock, Sludge or Snarl, who are bulky. Picture Cesium with a runner's build and Grinder, Stomp and Sever built like Strongmen. Swoop has the runner build, but it fits for a flyer.

Cesium does fix the unstable hips that Scoria had.

 

To be fair whether the design aesthetic of cesium is closer or further from the other Dinobots is purely subjective.

 

FWIW our lord JJ said if a reissue ever happened it would be Scoria, not Cesium, who gets made.

I suppose that helps explain FT's position on their internal canon.
