I could go for a Leader+ Thunderclash, accurate to the comics, as Ultra is too small from MMC. But this is too big--I'd just end up using the core robot. Hmmmm

MP G1.5/G2 will always at least have me curious, if not invested. I'll wait to see more, as I want any core 'bot to reflect the OG toy pretty well, since that's the source material we're left with in this case. I'm hopeful this ends up cool though, because where else will someone do a MPish Thunderclash?

Also yes, where is that MP G2 Tank Megs?

I don't think the core robot will combine with the trailer. Atleast I can imagine Fanshobby will try to keep the cost of this down by removing the combining feature (which they'd have to rework as well otherwise with the retooling). Even disregarding this speculative price aspect, FH usually stay true to the source material so it'd be a bit out of character for them to have TC combine.

Latest silhouette, not sure if anyone has lightened it yet.

I'm gonna be honest here guys....I'm really bummed that they put G2 Megs on the back burner because of their "change of direction" or whatever they called it, yet here they are making a Thunderclash, which has nothing to do with the route they're going in either.

I get it. From the truck to the cab robot and weapons platform, I get why they're doing it. And it should work, but it doesn't. Because there isn't enough being changed up from the source figure.

Just from this lightened up prototype photo, all I can see is a very square peg being forcibly rammed into a very round hole.

A shame, hopefully coloured images are more promising - it'll live or die for me on the strength of the truck and core robot forms - but I don't need to throw money at a PMOP in Thunder Clash cosplay. The combined mode is redundant here.

    Oooh, ranty.

G2 Megatron was the thing I was most excited for from Fanshobby, his chunky-ass look is perfect for them. They'd be the company I'd trust to finally top the chunk and durability of the old toy: my old one still holds together to this day. The stickers are even stuck to him still, which is pretty impressive for a toy I've had since I was four. Also, I've always wondered...I can't be the only 90's kid that always pretended he was G2 Brawl's older brother, can I?

But yeah, a little frustrating to see that they can do this and not the G2 Megatron.

I think they can make a Fat Arcee out of this. Because why not?

It's because it's a remold. But maybe if enough people buy this they'll reconsider and push Megatron back into the spotlight.

    I'll buy this.
I dig their bulky bot designs... just as long as it doesn't have that tricky big-robot-head-on-a-stick that you've got to squeeze between the smaller robot's legs when trying to combine it.
That was an absolute pain with their Ginrai.

You do realize this is a remold of their Ginrai?

Absolutely... thus, the condition that it doesn't have the same problematic design for the combined mode.
I'm sure they can come up with a tweak here and there for the bigger bot's head... hopefully.

I expect the smaller robot might look more like G1 Thunderclash. I'm not hating the armored up mode. Not entirely loving it. Can't wait to see more.

I am a proper Thunderclash fanboy, but yeah, we've been waiting ages for a big G2 Tank Megatron. :(

I'll take my chances on him eventually getting released without buying a figure I have absolutely no interest in. :lol  ;)
