I would have preferred Jetfire instead of Overload, but with both Overload and Tidalwave coming the odds of Jetfire being skipped have dropped considerably.

 

FH have said before that they were doing both of them since Armada Prime sold really well, they were just needing to go through the process of redesigning them from CHUG to MP and when to release them.

 

Thanks, I had missed that comment from FH. I knew the sales on Armada Prime would be a major factor in the decision, but hadn't seen anything about how it did.

 

So will this combine with the MB-15 Armada Prime?

I think it makes good sense to do Overload ahead of Jetfire. just like with the original G1 toy, they'll have carefully design how he drops in and attaches to the back of Prime. They'd also be wanting get a weight bearing established so they can make Jetfire strong enough, but still posable when all 3 are combined.

 

FH continuing to deliver on Armada, I love it. Maybe by 2025 we'll have the whole cast!

Overload only had one colorscheme in the cartoon, right? The recolors were toy-only, I think.

I might hold out for a Powerlinx recolor for Optimus, but I think I might jump in on this guy first. I just like Overload, even on his own.

 

They could do Ultra Magnus for SGC.

As near as I can find he almost had no toon deco for robot mode. According to TFWiki he appeared in 4 episodes, and appeared in robot mode in 1 total scene in the background and not really in focus. As near as I can tell it looks like it is based on a mix of the Hasbro and Takara decos of the toy with Hasbro's blue face and details more along Takara's look. EDIT: or maybe Takara simply painted their details to match the cartoon better after animators changed some and left some out?

Overload was always a nice design, it'll be great to have one with elbows and knees.

Jetfire had a cockpit panel that didn't let you cleanly combine all use him and Overload together.

Wonder if they'll allow for that if/when we get him.
