Yet Takara's Optimus is stylized, and Arcee is a new interpretation, and there have conversations surrounding both. If people have any issues with any figure there's nothing wrong with expressing it. They'll decide whether they'll buy it or not.

If you buy anything and everything simply because it exists then it does that you don't have standards. That's not an insult either. If people don't care about the change in alt mode then that's fine, if someone would rather have their first MP Armada Megatron be more accurate that's also fine. You're the only person here who is acting rather immature about all this by ignoring why complaints both are valid and reasonable.

 

Just on a side note, Fanshobby are known for doing inspired by and not 100% accurate from the get go. I think that to expect otherwise from these guys is a bit far fetched.

You're right that people might expect different, but it’s definitely not going to come from here. It’s a shame many are yet to jump on the UT designs because some of them are so damn cool.

I bet that Takara one is going to be redone as an MP, or at the very least it’ll be Gen selects, and whether we will get a trailer or a Jetfire instead is yet to be seen.

 

It would be so cool if FH includes interchangeable faces for this figure with different expressions. Like a scowl, an enraged expression and a smirk. I've actually already contacted them about this.

It really is, I so want this! It’s such a small thing but it really adds something to displays, a stoic expression would ruin a brawl diorama. Prime gets a pass because of his battle mask poker face.

 

Exactly right? One of the reasons why I usually dislike transformers with faces is that its left with one expression. Like gt sideswipe with its one face. At least with faceplate you can interpret your own emotion. But, when you give a bot multiple faces, it just makes the figure so much better. What might have been a no for me, then becomes a buy.

 

Send the images to FH, they will at minimum consider them, and I could see them doing it.

 

I actually really like the idea of reinterpreting Megatron, but I'm just making the argument that I can understand why some would be disappointed, especially since their Optimus mostly follows is anime truck.

 

Absolutely valid, I understand. I hope they do go more anime with it like their Optimus but to be completely honest I’d have bought both even if they were completely ass just to support the idea of UT in third party.

 

I really want to do the same, but FT's Optimus just too stretched for my liking. I do want that Galaxy Force Optimus though.

 

I don't have a lot of nostalgia for the show, but the original toy was a lot of fun. If this toy isn't fun when it's done, I will hunt around for a vintage toy. That's my basic threshold for toys anymore.

With Naval Commander wrapping up, I'm hoping to see more of this guy. Isn't MB16 the Machine Wars Prime, who's all but completed if not released? Should be just a month or so until we get more from this guy I'd wager

 

I'm hoping that if we get Tidal Wave he'll give Megs a height upgrade so he can believably take ultimate three-way combination Prime.

 

Well he does extend his torso up to make room for the wing pack in the original. I imagine that'll put him eye to eye with Super Prime.

It's pretty sad, Super Prime towers above Megatron, if I recall correctly Megatron's treads are close to eye level with Super Prime. Couldn't find any good pictures though.

 

It is shockingly hard to find comparison pics of the original Armada Prime and Megs. I even requested it in the UT appreciation thread and got told to just buy Combiner Wars Megatron. To this day I have no idea how big Megatron actually is.

 

Neither, I like to joke that there's some conspiracy going on. But Optimus is an entire size class taller.

It's also far from uncommon, the most infamous example is Fort Max vs. Scorponok, but basically all of the Japanese leader match-ups do it.
